In my heart, LSU won this game. Of course, all the Bama touchdowns count, so my heart is wrong (but I don't care, LSU won this game). LSU lost by only 4 points to a team who has pretty much blown out everyone this season. Bama actually played a real defense tonight. Mett passed more successfully than he has all season combined, and the offense performed better tonight than all season combined. The only thing I question (besides the weird FG attempt and fake punt) is where was THIS LSU team earlier in the season? I am OK with the loss because what I saw tonight was complete improvement on the players side (albeit with some strange decisions coming from the sideline).
I have a feeling next season is going to be a big one for LSU as everyone get's more experienced, especially for Mett. Excellent and entertaining football tonight. Best game I've watched in a while!
    Geaux Tigers!!! :)

It really doesn't matter where this team was all season, like Stacey and Red, and 123, myself, NVAtiger, gynojunkie, mc tiger, bleblanc, and others I'm prob leaving out have been saying all season, this team is right there. Injuries, penalties, drops, turnovers, and poor execution of well constructed game plans hurt us early, but you could see that we were right there.

On a bright note, a rusty old best up 6th year sr. a sophomore, a senior and 2 freshman pushed on Alabama's d line and in my opinion won that battle. The future looks very bright for this team.

THe players made their share of mistakes with those dumb penalties but this loss was on the coaches. LSU could have tried to ice it with a first down instead of playing for a long FG. The D was dominating Bama. Instead of keeping with what was working they go prevent and give the Bama WRs a huge cushion. This loss was all on garbage coaching. I give the coaches their due for adjustments and having a good gameplan but they blew it big time at the end of the game.

No argument there. I posed the question in the game thread right after 2nd down, do you run the ball and waste time and set up for a long field goal or try to win the game on your quarterback's arm which was on fire? Les chose to try for 3 and we blew it. Someone replied, play to win not to not lose and sure enough that's what Les did.

Agreed, I much rather lost playing to win. I HATE conservative play. The conservative calls on O for the final drive and the D cose LSU big time. I always you deserve to lose when you play conservative. Stick with whats working.
