I’m sure this will get tons of likes by people like Taint, and lots of other naysayers who have been spouting endlessly the past 2years about his Ole Miss tenure.
He’s a damn strong football coach and a good delegator ... And like you say he has made a statement ... in the Statement Game
I’m not crazy about that moniker yet. To me, a statement game would be one where you dominate for all 4 quarters, or blow out a team on the scoreboard. I’m thrilled and impressed that we beat a top 10 team on the road in a hostile environment, but we far from dominated that game. If, at the end of the season, we finish 10-2, and this game proves to be the catalyst, then I could maybe see it titled a statement game, but for me that title is premature and cocky. Won’t mean much if we lose next week or week after.
Well, I would love us to beat Bama, but certainly don’t expect it, and a loss to them won’t define whether a season is successful or not for me. But, I do agree a win against them would be a statement game.
