A very interesting article, but I wonder if this is true? Which would include LSU - did I miss our probation? Am I having a "senior moment"? :geaux:
Kind of funny how PC and USCw completely shattered NCAA violations in the early 2000s but never saw a day of sanctions.
That would explain it. Last time I watched a basketball game was at the Cow Palace, and Pete was playing. Ever since then, I have avoided basketball. To me there are four seasons: Fishing, Football, off season & Baseball. :geaux:
Whether true or false... that might have something to do with why 9 or 10 of the Big 10 teams all suck to high hell.
Dude just hates all things SEC. All of the major BCS conferences have the same admission standards except for the Big East -- who accepts partial qualifiers. The schools can turn down a recruit after he clears the NCAA clearinghouse and the conference's admission standards, but it rarely ever happens. One of the last times it happened was to...a SEC recruit at South Carolina. Go figure. Delany obviously doesn't follow recruiting or he would not have said that considering teams like Ohio State recruit the exact same players that go to Florida, USC, Alabama, etc. The only teams that benefit from this are the aforementioned Big East teams with players like Peanut Whitehead (Louisville) and Mike Ford (South Florida).
Any time there's something that's better than the rest, there's going to be nay sayers trying to discredit it for no other reason than jealousy.
It is a bit misleading. But he is losing some ground in the PR department so I guess he has to take a shot. Plenty of people will just regurgitate what he said without really thinking about it. I think we hold our elections the same way...
