miles is making sure the malveto's get their christmas bonus for coaching the bowl game. then changes will be made. its hard enough firing a friend but this is the easiest way to do it.
See, this is where I stand in stark disagreement with Les. Where I come from, you don't give bonuses to people who fail so miserably at their jobs. If anything, the university ought to be asking those two bozo's for part of their salary back.
Gone for most of a week and oblivious to what was going on outside my home, I headed back to work Monday eager for news about the LSU football coaching staff. Come on Rosetta, get off your butt and go do some work!!! Your job is to go dig up the news, not to be "oblivous to what is going on." Miles is probably the highest paid state employee now and probably in the history of Louisiana. There are some responsibilities attached to that. One is making tough decisions and then making sure the fans who pay his salary and play a major part in keeping the athletic department in the black are aware of them. Hey Rosetta, let me give you a hint to help you win that Pulitzer Prize you dream of: The athletic department IS aware of what is going on. Why don't you get off your butt and go make some connections over there and find out some information to report. Take them out to dinner, wine-and-dine them. You do realize that YOUR responsibilities as a journalist INCLUDE DIGGING UP THE FREAKING NEWS!!!
just a sarcastic statement on my part but there had been some rumblings that it could be the case. i do think les is loyal to a fault and that was long before this situation arose. thats why i think there could be some truth to it.
Considering that all the major candidates thus far seem to be big proponents of the "bend and don't break" scheme, I hope you are right. I guess at this point Chavis would be the best bet, but I'm hoping Miles pulls a rabbit out of his hat :miles: and finds an aggressive, cut-throat coordinator that will bring back what we had. I think, however, that Miles is keeping in mind his success from the zone defenses of Pelini and will go that route.
shouldnt jon tenuta be looking for another job. he knows the great weis hope is out next year, doesnt he. i know he wants a hc job and thought he was gonna get the gig at mich state but that didnt happen. so come wait it out with us, jonny. this is one blitz-crazy guy worth a look and les could call herbie to run with the story for real this time.
I think i have basically just topped reading the DC threads. Not that i find some of the info very good, its just that we are all getting worked up with speculation. I hope that Les makes a change. I feel that he will and I hope that the new guy will be a great addition to the team and make the tigers D the dominant defense that it used to be. I have just gotten to the point that it will happen when it happens and i leave it at that.
dominant i think many here just want an answer to appease their uneasiness that something is going to be done-- so they want an answer yesterday. everyone should chill til the job is filled and then judge it accordingly.
