Great game by the D....would have like to see a few more blitzes, but still they won the game for JJ and the offense..no doubt.

    Great game by the D!

I think we didn't blitz as much as we all would have liked because UGA had been turning the ball over so much (Cox especially) so I guess we figured: Drop more into coverage and get our turnovers that way.

Defense held the opponent for under 300 yards offense. Great game by the D no matter how you slice it.

I've never been more proud of an LSU team than I was today (well second only to beating the Teblows two years ago).

What a great effort....3 lineman booting and the O-line still plays with a lot of heart. Chuck fighting through to put us ahead. Hearing all of the critisim and beating a very good SEC team on the road.

But I thought Saban was the "defensive genius"????

Saban coached LSU to the most humiliating loss to Georgia in LSU History. Saban's last team at LSU got beat down 16-45 @ Georgia in 2004. How in the hell did that happen?

Here are all the losses LSU had to Georgia in history... who stands out as the biggest loser?

    2004 -- 29 pts (16-45) -- Saban!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    1948 -- 22 pts (0-22)
    1991 -- 21 pts (10-31)
    2005 -- 20 pts (14-34)
    1947 -- 16 pts (19-35)
    1952 -- 17 pts (14-27)
    1978 -- 14 pts (17-24)
    2008 -- 14 pts (38-52)
    1979 -- 7 pts (14-21)
    1949 -- 7 pts (0-7)
    1999 -- 1 pt (22-23)
    1998 -- 1 pt (27-28)

Yeah, they made Georgia earn almost everything. It took them a 4th and goal attempt to score their first TD.

Their second score was an amazing catch with perfect coverage.

The only thing we really gave to them was that blown coverage by Peterson on that drive when Georgia took the lead for the second time. That was a biggie.

But other than that, they tackled great this game. They also held AJ in check which was basically one of the biggest keys to winning. He had 99 yards on five catches. He did good, but he didn't have a monster game.

We were fortunate that Cox missed Green on that one bomb from the end zone...but then again, bombs in that area are usually rushed and rarely complete. We avoided those longs TD passes and that is UGA's game.

I like this thread! Congrats! I understand that sometimes recievers are going to get free on busted coverage, that is part of the game. This is what I do not understand... if you are a defensive back and you are confused on a play, why not stay with the man that you are covering. If you make a mistake, at least the mistake would be in front of you, and not a reciever running free behind all of the coverage.

Not a "hater comment", I really would like to hear a coach's take on this.

Typically, you don't know you're making the wrong read until you've made it.

Especially in Peterson's case. He thought he was in a coverage that gave him help deep, there's no need for him to ever question it and stay with his man. Odds are he didn't even know he busted the coverage until he saw the ball.

And for all we know, it might have been the safety's busted coverage?? Maybe Peterson was right and the safety was wrong?

The only issue I have with our defense right now is our inability to put pressure on the QB. We have been mostly strong against the run, and our secondary has been as good as can be expected considering the pressure that's been put on them. Our linebacking is vastly improved from last year. I think we're capable of holding UF to their lowest point total of the season next week, if we can hit/hurry Tebow with some consistency.
