Police claimed they smelled/saw smoke billowing out of his tour bus windows in New York after a show and raided the bus. He was in the back of the bus and didn't know about the raid until the officers went to the back and he threw a bag to the side. When they searched the bag they found a gun that was considered illegal since it was not registered in New York.
I think it's a shame that he has to serve time in the clink for a year for THAT. If I were on tour, I would have a gun on my tour bus. WTF is this world coming to? In Texas they would have asked why he only had one gun and sent him on his way. Lil Wayne is a good dude and a great artist. Tough break.
