I don't think people actually hate Jennings ,the problem people have is that his ceiling is not as high as harris and don't want to waste another season breaking in another qb should Harris beat him out next season. Miles has committed to Jennings and it will be his job to lose next year. The play calling masks anyone to get a real evaluation of Jennings progress and actually hurts his progression as a qb. 71 plays ran and 16 passes thrown and 2 were picks. You kinda feel like they are protecting the position instead of progressing it.
I'd love to go to a practice and see exactly how much they work on passing plays with the quarterbacks
You're right, of course, but I would say to that - when the running game is not working, it doesn't seem like we have a plan B. I realize that in order to wear down the opposing Dline, you have to stick with it, but at the same time, you don't want to continue trying the same old thing that's not working. I think that's why he's criticized one week (when it's not working) and praised the next, when it is.
Probably. I just think that you keep at it until you make it work and you keep working on Plan B, too. The veteran O-line is getting it together faster than the rookie quarterbacks, so that Plan B passing game is coming along slower.
@shane0911 seems absent today for some reason but I could point to Freeze's last drive and say that he was "playing to win" and lost the game for it. Meanwhile Les ran 12 straight conservative runs in the TD drive and was "playing not to lose" . . . but won the game.
