Well, then. If we compare all horrible series, Jennings surely leads in that category.

The kids were excited, and the players seemed to enjoy it. What's the big deal? LSU is too good to storm the field in a really exciting win? Interestingly, the SEC fines teams $5,000 whenever that happens. As if anyone could actually stop thousands of people from running onto a field.

Great post. But please, limit your question marks to one per sentence.

You have to give Jennings at least a C-. Yeah, he didn't set the world on fire, but that's exactly what a C should entail. Passing, but it's not going to excite anyone. I think you guys just got a bit too spoiled with Mett.

He goes from a C to a C- for a few of those ugly passes. He had some nice passes too, but those ugly passes outweigh the pretty ones imo.

Jennings doesn't call the plays. It was Cam's decision that he only throw the ball 16 times. And yes, 8 completions out of 16 is mediocre. 8 completions out of 32....that would be horrible.

And we see why we only threw the ball 16 times. And why we will continue to ask the kid to simply hand off the ball.

Again, thank God we are back to being a dominate run blocking team. If it wasn't for that, my prediction of 162 yards of total offense and getting past midfield only twice would have been pretty accurate.

And with only 16 pass attempts, he still managed to throw 2 interceptions, with a 3rd one being dropped for an easy pick 6. THAT IS HORRIBLE.

You guys can choose to ignore the obvious.

Les keeps speaking to this future "special team" he has. It won't ever be special if the QB is playing that poor a level. Alabama will do what they did to us in the 2011 championship game. Dare us to pass. It will be a great matchup with our O-line going up against 8 and 9 in the box all game long. Let's hope we're equally inspired in that game as we were against Ole Miss.

I'll repeat what I said in another thread. Barring injury, Brandon Harris will not play another significant snap this season. That ship sailed out of Jordan Hare Stadium like an overthrown slant pass.

If you can't see that AJ's play has improved over the last month, I don't know what to tell you. Yes, we need better, much better. But this kid's a true sophmore who's still learning the game. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being Manning/Brady/Brees level, I'd give AJ about a 4.5-5 right now. He was about a 3 a month ago. If Miles suddenly gave you what you want - Harris starting vs. Alabama, there's little chance we'd see anything better. What's more likely is we would go right back to the bottom of the learning curve. This at at time when we've begun to play quality football, mostly because we've been patient with guys like Fournette, Hunter, Beckwith and Godchaux, and let them take their lumps. Doesn't AJ deserve the same patience?

I'm not ignoring the obvious....I'm accepting the inevitable. We need better QB play, but if we're going to get it in 2014, its going to have to come from Jennings. With another spring and summer under Cam, Harris appears good enough to take the job away in 2015. If he's not, it will be because he could not beat out a QB with a year's starting experience under his belt.

Les gets criticized for power running one week and he gets praised for it the next. But the ability to run the football is an old, successful formula for winning in football. That glittering percentage of 4th-quarter wins that Les has is not Mad-Hatter luck, it's outplaying tired opponents in the 4th quarter. These fast defenses that are designed to counter the spread do it with some lighter guys with speed. They can be vulnerable to a power inside running game. Light defensive linemen wear down in the second half. The defensive backs don't really like playing in the box and taking on big guards and fullbacks too often. Power running teams can make long drives and keep their tired defensive asses on the field. They can own the time of possession. The first half must have seemed like forever for the Ole Miss defense who were off the field less than 9 minutes.

I still don't understand why the offensive line got off to much a slow start but if this line can continue to run block effectively LSU can not only control the clock and keep opponents offenses on the sidelines, but it can bear down in the 4th quarter and take advantage of a tired defense.

Indeed. You wouldn't have been wrong if you had been right. :D

So if only LSU would have lost my prediction for them to lose would have been right? What kind of shit is that? I just wish there was some honesty here. Jennings gets bashed for 2 picks, 1 was insignificant and is being bashed for an interception he didn't even throw. Never mind he threw the game winning TD, nevermind he threw another that should have been a TD had Dupree got a foot down, nevermind he was 4-6 throwing on 1st down. Nevermind he used his check downs, never mind his mistakes were made trying to make a play because our tailbacks fumbled us into a hole. Fournette and Magee fumble and Delahoussaye misses a chip shot yet I see nothing that says LSU won despite the 2 fumbles deep in Ole Miss territory. Don't see anything about all the int's LSU's D dropped but people are bitching about a int an ole miss player dropped. But we won despite the qb. We won because it was a team effort. Everyone had a hand in it.

This Jennings hate has been become so petty and so unrealistic it's pathetic.

Jennings runs the offense LSU wants him to run. He made enough plays to get the victory and even though it seems everyone else gets a pass for mistakes and turnovers, Jennings doesn't because people want him gone so bad. It's gotten to the point now, where I want him to be successful for the sole purpose of pissing all of his haters off.

8-16 with a TD and 2 picks, 1 of which was a punt is MEDIOCRE, and was enough to win and the crazy part is it would have been way more than enough to win had Magee and Fournette not fumbled.
