Jennings gets a C but that is all he will ever get, he did his normal thing which is give a couple nice passes and the rest are less than spectacular. A+ for oline and helping us sustain long drives and keep the defense fresh. Had not been for that the defensive grades may have been different. Defense A+ because they brought the wood
Both QBs deserved a grade of D. It wasn't pretty either side. Upon further consideration of all the dropped interceptions by LSU, I would give Wallace an F.
I don't necessarily disagree with Izzy's assessment of Jennings play overall. QB play wasn't pretty on either side and, to a large extent, you can chalk that up to really good defenses making it hard all night. That said, Jennings got it done when it mattered and Wallace never could, and that's the bottom line really. I've said it before and I will say it again, Jennings is our QB this year but Brandon Harris will take that title sometime this offseason when the light goes on between his ears. When that happens and we have a legit strong arm QB who can run it too along with all the other young talent on this team......my friends, we might be in for the best 2-3 year run in Tiger history. Call me an optimist and slap me on the ass but I like this team a lot. With Harris at the helm next year, this team reminds me of 2011 except with Mettenberger instead of JJ/JL.
If the players stick around we will get another title in the next two years with this bunch , the sky is the limit as long as we get the qb thing worked out. But the run game looks to be punishing for now and the next couple years.
I really don't see the issue with that , this is college and these kids look for these opportunities. A few weeks ago everyone inclung myself wrote these guys off. Now even though they will not be in the playoffs they have an opportunity to alter the outcome of the first final 4 in history. With this win they already have.
He's correct, it was still a horrible night for Jennings. However that doesn't overshadow a great team performance. It was a big win and both sides of the ball did their part. If we could have held on to the ball on O and caught some easy interceptions on D it would have been a less exciting game. What a huge win for the Tigers. Should be a big confidence builder. Other than a few big plays given up by the D they looked like the Tiger D of a few years back. What can you say about the OL? They simply dominated a really good defensive front that had 7-9 in the box all night long. It was very encouraging to see them getting blocks at the second level. Let's hope we see them build on this performance and get ready for bumma. Great game Tigers!
