    Two members of LSU's defense earned recognition from the SEC Monday after the Tigers' dominant performance in a 41-3 romp past.Washington.

    Junior defensive end Sam Montgomery was tabbed the league's Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week after he notched 4 tackles, a sack, 3 QB hurries and 1½ tackles for loss.

    Freshman cornerback Jalen Mills earned SEC Freshman of the Week recognition after a 7-tackle outing and his first interception.

    SEC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

    OFFENSE
    -Tyler Russell, QB, Mississippi State (Russell is on a tear through two games, completing 66 percent of his passes for 407 yards and 5 touchdowns with no interceptions)

    DEFENSE
    -Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia (he was also named Walter Camp's National Player of the Week)

    SPECIAL TEAMS
    -Caleb Sturgis, PK, Florida

    Co-OFFENSIVE LINEMAN
    -Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky;
    -A.J. Hawkins, OG, Ole Miss

    Co-DEFENSIVE LINEMAN
    -Sam Montgomery , DE, LSU;

    Collins still has a way to go, this is why hes playing OG. Josh D. did look good Saturday night.

    Rhetorical question....Why wasn't the sports editor of the Nicholls State newspaper at the Nicholls State game?

    Maybe the Monroe Star's writer stopped watching at halftime, too.

    Collins is killing people run blocking. He has stepped up majorly or he wouldnt be starting.

    Guess I must be watching something else. Go back and look at the hit took by Mett in the NTS game. Check Collins man.

    thats bs, that hit was on Hurst and Wright. Actually Wright signaled to him that the CB was coming. Collins had zero to do with that sack.
    As you can see Wright signals that he is coming and Mett doesnt recognize it.
    I love video evidence.

    Collins wasn't directly responsible, you're right, but he did get beat pretty badly on the play. Had he not, Mett might have had a pocket to step into to avoid the blitz.

    wouldnt have matter, Mett didnt see the guy at all. So he had zero time to react.

    I would like to see the young DB get their head around a little better. Face guarding the receivers will get them in trouble in the BIG games. I see a penalty or them loosing track of the ball for a big play. Other than that I thought everything else was way better than last week.
