Come on. There's plenty of film on both our QBs already. I'd even buy it if this was the first game of the season. There's better calls that could have been made even if you didn't want to show much.
I agree. Also, they give JJ a series and he leads the team all the way to the UK 40-something yard line and its 3rd and 7. So what do they do? They trot JL back into the game for a pass play, which is incomplete. Also totally moronic. JJ's got the rhythm, let him throw the ball. JL was out of sync because he was out of the game for the entire series. Also, can we please scrap the rollout passes? Totally ineffective and stymied our offense today. Hopefully, we can chock it up to the opponent and start time for the flatness of the offense and play calling.
I agree with all of this. Let jj stay in on 3rd and 7, and please scrap the rollout for lee. He looks a lil awkward when just drops back. On the rollout he looks down right uncomfortable
That game was a glorified practice. Quit bellyaching. Seven drops. Rueben dropped one. Shepard dropped three. Boone dropped one. I think OBJ even dropped one. If Shep catches those two high passes that hit him square in the hands, you're adding completions and significant yardage with chances for yards after catch. Landry should be in the game instead of him. Sorry. He's too athletic to not get an NFL opportunity, but he's in the wrong offense because we're not getting the most out of him. There wasn't anything wrong with the playcalling. No sense being risky on an opponent you can beat even on a bad day. Run the ball. Run the clock. Get this **** over with. Enjoy the looonnnnggg evening and night...
Shepards best play was a run. The guy should be at running back. Yep. It was a trap game and a "come-out-flat" game and we got past it and looked just fine.
So because of this you object to Jefferson being inserted to gain 1 yard via running? People are reading way too much into this IMO. We know Miles want to use him situationally, and this situation happened to call for the "running QB." If Jefferson is our goal line QB, so be it. Not sure why Lee's superiority as a passer would factor in to JJ being inserted for a QB sneak. If we're passing on 4th and 1 anyway, we have bigger problems.
Lee did throw a lot of passes off of his back foot, which would be dangerous against better defenses....
He does that every game. You just have to get used to it at this point. He does it so much that he knows how to compensate. He's so used to it himself that it seems like every time he steps into a throw he overthrows it. The first long one to Randle into triple coverage would have been a pick against a good d. The long TD to Beckham was underthrown badly but bad coverage, bad tackling and a good play by Beckham made it look good.
