I agree 100%, and mentioned it on the game thread -- it gives opposing teams another wrinkle to address.

Don't mistake what I said. There is no doubt that JJ brings something to the table with his legs. I just thought it was not the right time to bring him into the game. Lee was having success moving the ball, and had us in position to score. To me, it wasn't the right time for Miles to make a point.

While we were cliche vanilla on offense today, I didn't see Lee with the confidence that he played with against MSU on the road. He looked out of sync and lacked focus.

I left the game before JJ came in at the end of the 3rd (my 5-yr old had had enough), so I didn't get to see JJ's or Mett's series.

I also downgrade coaching because I thought that at the end of the first half with 2 mins on the clock, you need to try and move the ball down the field and try for a FG. We were only up by 2 scores at the time, and the extra momentum from trying to go down the field would have been tremendous.

I don't see it as Les trying to make a point other than JJ is going to get many opportunities in the redzone this year so get ready and don't get your feelings hurt. Lee handled it well unlike many of the fans.

I agree with the break down except for Coaches Issy. I'd drop it down to a C- and the only reason it isn't lower is because of how well Chief called his game. A few things really stood out to me.

First the switching of JJ and JL like they did last year has GOT to stop. They moved JJ into 3rd and goal and had to call a time out, got away with a 12th man, and should have had a false start on offense called. Was that really worth the 'added dimension' on offense? Heck no. Then later in the game 3rd and 6 and they pull JJ out for JLee. Put him in a bad situation and then say "Go make it happen". The only thing that did was show Miles didn't trust Lee to put the ball in the end zone and didn't trust JJ on 3rd and long. It's last year all over again. Miles has to pick a QB and sink or swim by them. This on the fence BS is gonna cause us to drop a game.

Second, the play calling was plain horrible. Stop using Shep as a WR. He's not. He plays soft and can't catch the ball. We actually did 4 straight plays to Shep at one point 3 passes, 1 run. Only the end around was productive. OBJ gets the next pass and runs it in for a TD. After that OBJ pass, we went almost an entire quarter's worth of time before we threw the ball again. 2 or 3 drives of straight runs and punts. Even when it was 2 minutes before the half we just ran 3 times and punted and gave Kentucky enough time to run their 2 minute offense. There's no excuse for such horrible play calling.

The offensive coaches (whether it was Stud/Krag or Miles I dunno) really had their heads up their butt this game. If they call another game like they did today against Bama or maybe even FLA, we're gonna drop a game.

No hurt feelings. Whatever gives us the best opportunity to win. I just prefer the passing threat more than the running threat when it comes to QB play. While Lee offers no running threat inside the 10, JJ offers no passing threat. RBs and a passing QB can keep the defense off balance more than just the running threat.

In any case, we have what we have, and what we have is Miles in love with the kid, so we will get plenty of him. My prediction is that he will be starting over Lee before the end of the season. At least our offense would still be better than Kentucky's.

No passing threat? Did you see his QB rating the last few games of the season. It wasn't just the A&M game. That is the generalizations fans need to get over.

I think the game plan was setup as plain vanilla. We took Ware out early. Magee got some nice reps against an SEC defense. Run on 1st. Run on 2nd. Throw on 3rd. That's plain vanilla, and we weren't going to pull out anything extra to show Florida. Unfortunately, it made for a very uninteresting game to watch, with quite a few punts. I expect us to be back on for next week with all resources available.

so 3 of 6 games were excellent games

the other 3 were pretty abysmal

not as good as maybe Bhelm is presenting but definitely has the capability of having a big game
