You seem to be pretty closed minded in your view. I don't know what the story is, but apparently you're still one of those that doesn't like our coach. Guess what...if COY was handed out right this minute, Miles would likely win it...possible challenger Dabo Sweeney.

The coaching is not just good...it's BRILLIANT. If you can't see that, you need to take the blinders off. Have you ever stopped to think about why we only score 19 against MSU, but can put up an easy 41 against Florida? Because that's what they wanted to do...that's why. We could've scored 70 on KY...but what's the point? In fact, I have little doubt we could've scored 50+ in every game we've played...every one. But that just isn't what they wanted to do.

In other words, so far this season...LSU has done whatever the hell they wanted to do against every single opponent they've faced. Why do more than it takes to win comfortably?? Why open it all up before we even come close to needing to?? You think the Bama gameplan is gonna be the same as the MSU gameplan? Every game we've played so far has been a glorified practice after the first half. It hasn't come close to biting us in the arse yet.

We beat a good team by 30, only throwing 14 times. You obviously think we should've thrown the ball more? Why? We won by 30 friggin points!! We didn't even get our usual ST or D score. Our offense put 41 on the board against UF...throwing the ball 14 times. Jarrett Lee had 154 yds throwing the ball only 10 times personally. If we wanted to, we could've amassed 300 yds passing easily, and then STILL gained 200+ on the ground. We didn't need to. Even taking the gas off the pedal, we put up over 450 yds of offense against FLORIDA. How would it have bettered our chances against Bama to throw the ball more against UF? Lee was dead on balls accurate with the long ball, and could've picked UF's secondary apart with Randle all day long. There was no need to keep showing that...

You talk about coaching? The coaches across the country sure noticed. Check the polls now.

I love CLM. Come on you can't honestly think that we executed our MooU gameplan to exactly what Miles wanted.

As I've stated I don't care to argue the subject after a good win. This thread was meant to grade our units. I wouldn't give our offensive coaching an A+ today, I'd give them a B-. You and anyone else are allowed to give each unit any grade you see fit.

QB = A+

Combined QB stats 10-14 215 yds, 2 TDs 0 Ints, 247.57 QB Rating. The 2 QB system is officially in place and should help us offensively the rest of this season.

RB = A+

Ware and Blue were the featured backs and they did an incredible job against a really good front 7 of Florida. LSU officially has a 3 headed monster at running back.

WR = A

No dropped passes this week and Randle got behind the secondary on 2 occasions for the biggest plays of the game for LSU. Shepard looks like a valuable weapon heading down the home stretch. Downfield blocking continues to be a strength of this unit.

TE = B+

Peterson had a big catch and Joseph had the nice TD reception. Solid blocking all game long by the tight ends.

O-line = A+

They simply dominated a very good defensive line and front 7. Pass protection again was excellent and run blocking was dominant for almost the entire game.

Overall Offense = A+

Great balance of run and pass. Only issue was conservative play calling early in the 2nd half that allowed Florida to think they had a chance. Then the afterburners were turned on. Game over.

D-line = B+

Didn't get enough pressure on the QB today but the secondary took care of that deficiency. Stopped the run well enough, save a couple of big plays that Florida broke loose.

LB = B

Minter has asserted himself as the middle linebacker on rushing downs and Baker is simply solid as he has been all year long.

DB = B+

Great job overall except for the slip by Claiborne on the long TD pass. Brandon Taylor reacted late and could not get over to help. Mathieu took what he wanted. Again.

Overall Defense = B+

Considering the void at QB for Florida, LSU's defense was solid but not quite spectacular.

Special Teams = C+

A punt partially blocked and a long kickoff return coupled with a 15 yard penalty marred what was a pretty decent day by the special teams. The highlight of course was Wing and that tremendous run. Return game didn't have much of a chance to get going as Florida elected to pooch punt all day long. LSU has the best special teams in the nation in terms of downing it inside the 10 yard line. It was done twice more today. Place kicking was once again flawless.

Coaching = A+

Play calling offensively was aggressive when the defense was giving us the deep ball and LSU took advantage of it on 2 occasions to Randle. Defensively we rattled the QBs for Florida enough to not get into any kind of rhythm all day long. We got conservative in the first drive of the 2nd half but came out the next drive and went to the air to put the game away.

Totally agree with all the grades this week.

Now, as you all know, I'm no fan of the "2-QB system"--never have been. But it's Miles' will and I accept that. But if we're to use both, I liked how Miles basically allowed Lee to stay in the game uninterrupted until we had a couple score lead. If he's in a zone: which he was, keep riding that hot hand.

Spoke to my good friend last night and he told me the most crazy (IMO) statement I've ever heard: "That game was about as boring as you can have."

WHAT??!?! A 30-point blowout of Florida? 200 yards rushing. 200 yards passing. 46-yard deepball strike on our 2nd play as well as another solid day of defense and forcing turnovers. "Boring"??? Really?! Is THAT what we've evolved into these days?!?!?! If so, color be "bored" each and EVERY day if that's the results we get!

This game was a blowout at halftime. Florida had nothing and they knew it. I was more concerned with our players getting complacent with the lead than anything else--and to their credit, they didn't.

I had to point out (not that it made a difference) that Miles, in his entire time here, has ALWAYS gone to the ground to shorten the game when we've reached a big lead--and he SHOULD! Why keep passing and risk stopping the clock on incompletions and giving your opponent more chances at crawling back in the game?!?!?!

He got angry at me because I told him he's never satisfied. Last year, he was moaning about all the "close games" and nailbiters and the fact that he thought "we just couldn't put ANYONE anway". Now, our closest win was by 2 scores and we've been comfortably in the lead by the 3rd quarter in every other game and he wants "excitement"???? :shock:
