Not in CFB. Style means just as much as winning.

2011. Bama got a bid at the NC because they had a "better loss".

I am not sure you have understood anything I have said.

I'm sure I haven't understood what you've said. LSU is an elite team. Certainly, there are things we can do better, but style points are tangible things. Win/loss records are.

Seeing as how there's only 7 or 8 teams that have a crystal since '98... and only 3 teams that have more than 1... i'd say LSU is definately among the top echelon of the elite programs. I'm sure there's roughly 100+ programs in the nation that would love to be in our shoes.

My point is that just like you referenced Ohio state's shellacking in 07 by LSU, people reference the coke job that was 2011.

I am not saying LSU isn't elite. We are, I am saying that for the past 5-6 years, the only Elite thing about LSU was its D. Hell in the past 4 years we have won 1 bowl game. Just 1.

To the rest of the CFB world outside of Louisiana, Offensive prowess and style, ability to finish games and game time coaching has been a negative of LSU. To add, we have ended the year losing in the past 3 of 4 bowls.

I am not being negative. I am recognizing that this coaching staff SEEMS to have accepted a change in this regard.

I just watched the entire game again. It reinforced in my mind that I was completely correct when I said that the D-line run defense wasn't up to standard. And despite the gaudy stats, there were drops in the passing game. Not many obviously, but OBJ dropped a TD that he coulda/shoulda had and so did Landry. Overall, the win was awesome. Mettenberger, who was the biggest question offensively coming into this season in many peoples' minds, was amazing. Pretty much perfect. UAB had a good running game and they were able to run between the tackles on our front 4. They also gashed us repeatedly on the edges with the screen pass for big gains that we didn't adjust to it very well.

But a 56-17 win is great! I wish some fans weren't so damn sensitive. I don't think people are saying our team sucks. Just giving honest criticism of the areas where improvement can be and needs to be made. I thought that was the purpose of this thread? That's why we pay Miles and Co.all that money, to see this stuff and fix it.

The good was exceptionally good and the bad wasn't horrible, so I'll take it.

I am disappointed by the Blazers in their performance.

I thought they would come out on fire, focused, and fight for an upset. Tough loss for UAB. Here's to them dominating C-USA and heading to the Liberty Bowl.

Against TCU we played 53 players, but when it came to UAB, we put 66 players on the field. We tried a number of players at a bunch of positions. We are a young team, playing a number of young players. Around 8 Srs. on this roster. I like what I saw Saturday on both sides of the ball. Not many games over the year we have put a team away that early. The reason we saw so many players, was to see kids under live fire in game action. Played a few walkon players. Like I said, this one was over early, LSU could have run up the score, but playing the younger ones helped us get a look.

They played a damn good second quarter offensively. They never quit. They weren't intimidated. I think last year this game would have been closer. But this is this year and Air Mett couldn't be contained.

LSU is rarely dominated when they're hungry and I do mean rarely.
