I could just be oblivious, but the entire coaching attitude seems more dedicated to perfection this year.

We aren't there yet with respect to where we should be as an elite program, but I DO think Miles is making a move towards that.

    WTF are you talking about?

The coaches saw enough of a concern to make changes AFTER A BLOWOUT WIN...

    I just don't get it.

Not one person has said that the play during the 2nd quarter was acceptable.

Other than Alabama, who would you put closer to perfection as an elite program than us? And...we've only seen Bama once this season, and they were a shadow of their former selves.

Personally, I think Saban held a lot close to the vest in the VT game after being up huge. They have the talent to fix their O'line woes. They will not be as dominate as last year with respect to pass protection and run game, but their D is every bit as good.

With regards to perfection and consistency, I am more speaking to a few points:

    Offense
    Finishing games
    Penalties

To this regard, there are a number of programs ahead of LSU.

If there are a number of programs that are ahead of us in those categories and are winning more than us, please list them.

Finishing games was our Achilles heel last year, for sure. It looks like we've addressed that, along with the offense and penalties so far.

You're kidding yourself if you think Saban's offense looked that bad on purpose. That's the same lame excuse LSU fans have used for years about our offense.

For what it's worth Bama after one game has the 120th ranked offense, and in terms of penalties there are at least 5 programs in the SEC at this point penalized more than LSU.

I didn't say on purpose, but the game was over in the 2nd quarter. I said they have issue. I think you are reaching on what I said. I think we would all be fools to expect that the Bama O we saw is what we will all see the rest of the year. Anything can happen, but those chances are VERY small.

Winning isn't everything. If it was, LSU would be a premier program. In our minds they are, but for the better part of the last 5 years, LSU and "luck" have been one in the same. Our troubles on O have been a complete laughing stock as well as coaching blunders.

Anyway, Oregon, Stanford, FSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma are consistently consistent to those points I made previously. That is not to say they "don't lose" games. We all lose games.

My point is that LSU has been known for:

Playing up and down to competition
Week on O, stubborn and no killer instinct late in the game
    Sloppy at times
    Coaching "mistakes" at key times

They've also been known for winning a shitload of games. You say luck, but geez. That's an awful lot of sunshine on one dog's ass.

True, and I think we all could agree that with a better O philosophy, finishing games and better game management, LSU would have 1-2 more National Titles.

Actually, winning trumps anything else, since this is...a game.

I would argue that we were one of the unluckiest teams last year with the injury bug biting us hard in key positions.

The lucky tag that our team is given for winning takes away from our accomplishments.

FSU, Ohio State, OU? Are you kidding me? We beat the shit out of Oregon two years ago and killed Ohio State in the NCG in '07.
