They simply wore Syracuse down, however they leave little to be desired in the realm of pass protection.

I was very surprised by the late hit penalty. QB was gaining yards and was hit while in bounds by at least a yard. Very bad call.

How many times have we seen defenders pull up and that guy gains a few more yards. It has happened and I can't blame Jones for hitting him.

Well at the very least Grimes should be placed in a burlap sack and beaten senselessly with reeds.

LF had 177 yards gained before he was touched, so I will give the oline, FB's and TE's an A+ on the run blocking. The holding call on Jeter was marginal at best and wasn't called on SU all game long. Then I'll give the oline a D on pass blocking.

Dwayne Thomas made the biggest mistake on defense when he thought Adams was supposed to take the deep threat however he was wrong not Adams. Debo hit the QB too high again, so they threw the flag. He should have hit him in the stomach/chest area.

I think one of the things I continue to fail to do when I look at LSU and see the flaws, is I completely dismiss that other teams in the West are just as flawed if not more than LSU is. This team has a shot to win the West this year. Just hope they continue to get better.

We all tend to do that, and forget that the players are human and will make mistakes.

A grade for Leonard Fournette, Karl Malone and others for representing LSU with class and showing respect to Syracuse alumni/coaches.

I was doing what I do, Cuz. Observing and drawing conclusions. On a typical weekend there would be coffee conclusions, beer conclusions, whiskey conclusions . . . and there was another one . . . I forget.
