Overall a solid group of grades. I agree, the OL looked impressive once Harris came in. However, let's see what they do against a legit DL that they do not outweigh by 70lbs. Still in all, last night was a great sign for the OL. I have to say the coaches deserve a D. The start of the game was horrible. The team was once again flat. The play calling was horrible. There was no reason to keep going back to AJ. The difference in the team with Harris vs AJ was night and day. The coaches(Miles) should have seen that long ago.
Please forgive me for being blunt, but saying "the crowd wasn't booing the players; they were booing the coaches" is the most shit-all stupid remark I hear over and over again when defending the ridiculous act of booing your own team. First of all, of course, the booing assholes were booing Jennings. And, of course, they were also booing Miles. Regardless, the booing occurred and it is indefensible. Period.
I forgot to mention the crowd. I totally agree there should NEVER be any booing. That is just stupid and sad. I do not care how you feel about Miles and the job he has or is doing. Or how bad a player is performing. These are kids and AJ had to feel like it was him being boo'd. Which in part was the case, although most of it was towards Miles. That is just UGLY and uncalled for. I know I may sometimes be seen by some as a nega-Tiger, but that is just classless.
Maybe the intention was to boo the coaches but the connection to Jennings running onto the field was too close and you can see from the team's reaction they though the boos were directed at 10. We so often talk about appearances...well we should understand the appearance last night was the crowd was booing Jennings.
That's horseshit and you know it. This isn't a tea and crumpet sport, and neither are LSU fans. Never have been. Fans pay (a lot, mind you) to be entertained, that's why they're there. Spectator events have always been this way, whether it's sporting events, movies or plays. This kind of passion is the reason that stadium can be ear-splittingly loud, so to suggest that passion should only manifest itself when everything is peachy is naive and unrealistic. Those men suit up to play in front of large crowds, they and the coaches know what's at stake. It's a good life lesson for them - if they can withstand it, bounce back and play better the next time then they've learned resilience. If not, find another line of work. You can't have it both ways. Otherwise, just have everyone sit on their hands or give a gentle clap next time Fournette or Hilliard breaks a 75 yarder for a TD.
Can you just admit they were not booing Jennings himself but booing Les Miles for his decision to start Jennings and stay with him too long.
Horseshit B if you won't listen to posters read Harris's own words. "It shouldn't be the way it was tonight where we may have somebody booing him," Harris said. "We need to all support him when he is in there. It hurt me to hear anything. I know you shouldn't listen to all of that, but coming from me, I just don't think it was the appropriate way to handle that situation." This what the players hear...the boos were for Jennings in their hearts and minds.
they were booing the entire situation. to think all 30,000 or however many it was were just pissed at miles, thats ludicrous. jennings' continual shitty play, les' continuance watching in full denial and the frustration of getting manhandled by a glorified high school team were all the brunt of the fans' anger. maybe we can get jeopardy like buzzers installed on all the seats which can register who each person is pissed at the most. im sure most would choose all of the above. maybe add a shock function to les for the ones directed at him to break him out of that glazed stupor.
