    QB: A
He had the one bad throw on what should have been an easy pass to the back. There was a pass rush but he still has to make that throw, he has all year long, and did later in the game. Otherwise, an outstanding effort by the best pure passing QB in college football. I would also like to see him go to a hot read on these blitzes that get to him so quickly. He still isn't consistently sensing the blitz. He continues to complete passes at an 11 yard clip per attempt. He had 4 incompletions, and one of those were dropped by Beckham.

    RB: A+
33 carries for 245 yards and 6 TDs. Enough said.

    WR: A+
Even with the one easy drop by Beckham, this unit was so outstanding and dominating, they still get an A+ grading. 17 catches for 276 yards and 2 TDs for the fantastic duo.

    TE/FB: C
It does not look like we will get any real production out of our TEs this season. Copeland did go down with injury tonight, hopefully it was not severe, as he was a catalyst for the running game dominating.

    OL: A
Aside from being manhandled on a couple of blitzes, the line was really outstanding tonight, both protecting Mettenberger and opening up gaping holes for the running backs.

    DL: D
This unit is still struggling mightily to lend any help overall to the defensive efforts. They are easily blocked at the point of attack and don't generate any pass rush, causing us to blitz and put our weak coverage unit in jeopardy.

    LB: D
Again, this unit is probably saved by Kwon Alexander from getting an F. Barrow and Welter just aren't SEC capable linebackers. Louis, Beckwith and some others need to see the field more.

    DB: D+
If it wasn't for the opposing QB throwing late on some wide open passes, this unit would have gotten an F. But they did indeed make the plays on turnover and pass breakups on 3rd down in the 2nd half, so credit needs to be given for that. Robinson will be our best CB before long, and Tre White will be solid on the other side. Robinson made a great play on a bubble screen to the WR on a 3rd down play, forcing a FG. Hopefully improved secondary play comes before playing both Alabama and A&M.

    Special Teams: B+
I still don't quite get why we simply can't boom the kick towards the back of the endzone each and every time. We do it roughly half the time. They had a huge 46 yard kickoff return on one of the short ones. The punting was great tonight, 2 for 97 yards, 48.5 yard average. Hopefully that continues.

    Coaching: B-
At some point, you're going to have to trust your all star QB to throw a play action fake from the 1 yard line. Yes, I'm talking to you Les Miles. The defense was ill prepared to play well for the 2nd straight game. Fortunately we had some turnovers in the 2nd half, although MSU moved it on us to the tune of about 200 yards. I'll take bend but don't break from here on out, if we can't get these guys coached up any better.

I said it in the game thread, but I would like everyone's opinion, now that we are in a thread that isn't going to zoom to 60 pages in 3 hours, what does it say about our defense, when Les fucking Miles is calling a pass play with a lead, on 4th and 2 when we are in field goal range. To me that is a complete indictment on our defense and how he has no confidence in them.

I can't give the Oline any better than a B-. Mettenberger got sacked badly several times and the running backs got stuffed at the line WAY too much.

The coaches made effective adjustments at the half and got Barrow out of pass coverage. The got some consistent run-blocking from the O-line. I give them a B+

Good point Red. The only reason the O Line was looking good at the end was because MSST pretty much played their front 4 the whole game. They were just gassed. Mettenberger could have easily gotten hurt, he hit his elbow really good on one sack. Also Hawkins got straight up pancaked so hard IHOP was like DAAAAAAYUM!!!!! They have to do better.

Man, I have no idea which game you were watching.

First, tell me how many times he got sacked.

Mind you, one of the sacks was due to Hilliard getting absolutely trucked, trying to pick up the blitzer.

Can anybody help out Red on how many times Mett got sacked tonight?

571 yards of offense against a decent SEC team on the road, that doesn't happen by smoke and mirrors

The answer was 2. But at least you didn't say 7 or 8, so I'll give you some credit for that.

One of those sacks was on Hilliard.

That was definitely #27. I couldn't believe anyone could blow up Hilliard like that. But they did. The dude looked like he was just north of 300 lbs, however.
