I agree with you on the surface, but with the score 17-0 we would have looked foolish running the ball in that situation. In other words, even the run heavy Les Miles knew we needed to throw the ball in that instance.
We looked foolish running the ball the series after. We should have at least tried to open it up after we were 1 score down or after r-Kansas put 11 men in the box for the 19 thousandth time.
At least JJ would extend plays with his legs. He couldn't throw to save his life, but he was a good runner. Jennings doesn't even have that going for him.
