QB: F LSU has hit rock bottom at the QB position. You can actually argue that Jennings is worse than Jordan Jefferson. Not saying it's necessarily true, but it can be argued. That's sad and then some. RB: C- This unit had absolutely no chance beyond a line that didn't show up (plus injuries) and a QB who cannot complete a forward pass. WR: C Always a tough unit to grade with a QB who simply cannot complete a forward pass. TE/FB: D+ Meh. OL: D- No energy from this unit. They seem to be most affected from the loss to Bama. DL: B+ A unit that continues to play well. LB: B Another unit that has been solidified and will be a strength going into 2015. DB: C Was not good enough on a night in which we needed to be stellar. ST/K: D We can all see this Delahoussaye train wreck coming from a mile away. He has escaped danger with poor kicks all year long, but this night finally got him. Keehn was the lone bright spot. Coaching: D Les Miles has bottomed out this passing game to an unbelievably abysmal level. Chief at least had his unit ready to play after the disappointment against Bama.
How could coaching not get an F? The entire team looked totally unprepared. Defense, although fairly solid, was also aided by plenty of Arkansas miscues.
Our philosophy on offense is we will beat you with better players. Our scheme does not even try to get our athletes the ball. Once we get down by 2 scores it might as well be 40 points. I generally agree that running the ball should be a priority and don't turnover the ball. However you have to be smart enough and willing to change if it isn't working. He gets paid handsomely to figure it out.
I agree with the second sentence. I just don't know who is to blame on this one. It looked like no one had the flats all night. I think the LBs are likely the culprits, but it could've been the safeties, CBs, or just the coaching. As for the QB, I don't know how much Jennings is to blame. At least partially. But he is at least the 3rd QB that was a top-10 QB coming out of his class that has just not performed. Jennings has shown me that he can be good. See the back-shoulder throw to dural, some of the timing routes that he has hit. I just am dumbfounded on this issue. When it was Jefferson and Lee, I was ready to give them the dunce cap, but with Jennings, and maybe even Harris now, I just find it too much of a coincidence for it to be 3-4 busts at QB since 2007. I'll sum it up with this. If I were throwing one pass per possession on 3rd and long, I sure wouldn't blame myself.
OL and coaching are F's. No excuse for Harris not to play. Also, Miles did not have the OL ready to play, there was no fire. I put it on him because he is the HC and we have seen this for too many years. RB's and WR's are a wash because of the OL, play calling, and QB play.
And they have two weeks to prepare for A&M. What do you think that's going to bring us? Not much IMO.
QB: C...he missed a couple of throws and he held the ball too long a couple of times. But he also completed better than 50% when he rarely had time. Oline: F....beaten continuously from the opening play on. Coaching: F.....continues to set our QB up to fail.
