Gregg Williams most important positions are CB, MLB and pass rushing specialists (DE specifically). He has publicly stated this.

Last on his list is a huge wide body NT and OLBs. Thus the draft we ended up with. I do believe we would have drafted Dan Williams over Jerry Hughes or Patrick Robinson, but only because he was rated higher, not because he was a NT. It would have been the best of both worlds as the Saints are sorely lacking a run stuffer in the middle.

    We draft BPA always.

Once upon a time, in the NBA draft, a team needed a Center. There were better players available but...not at Center (debatable yes). They made their selection of the best Center in the land selecting Sam Bowie. Everyone knows what comes next is that Michael Jordan is picked by the Bulls. I think this is similar to what SF is saying, had the Blazers gone with BPA instead of position need, they could possibly have about 5 more championships.

Yes, the Houston Rockets really blew it picking Akeem Olajuwon number one since MJ was definitely the best player available.

....twisted, I'm gonna have to submit this post for a drug test as compared to your normal voice of reason posts. between Bowie and Jordan, since the Dream had already been picked, I think the Blazers wouldn't mind having that one back...they also might like to have a do-over on the Oden pick.

i don't think he is debating that the blazers should have gone with MJ.
