We're going to set offensive records this year, between the much better offensive coaching and the lack of SEC defenses across the league.
we all know we haven't seen everything yet on offense. cam's hardly touched the passing game to the tight end and running back. that aspect is part of cam's dna. hope we don't have to show it all until the bama game. and then watch out. as for our young players on defense, by the time we get to the bama and a&m games they will have almost a seasons worth of experience. as long as we're healthy then we should be ok, imho.
That's why I'm OK with what Chief is doing playing all these youngsters against a weak part of the schedule even though it ain't very pretty. He's minimizing his injuries to starters and he's building some depth before we get to Florida, Georgia, Alabama and A&M. This is a rugged league and men will go down. Chavis knows this better than anyone. He's not just playing smart football, he's managing his talent very well and with an eye on his calendar.
How can he get anything but an "A". I wonder where we would have been last year with him as O Coordinator.
I say A+ on CC. Great job on Metts and really has him seeing the field and throwing great. Metts has a lot of confidence this season and he respects CC it seems and appreciates his linemen. I've noticed that he turns around to look up at CC while on the headset. Seems kind of odd and maybe he did that last year, but it seems to show respect IMO. But he has done wonders with Metts. I'm happy with the play calling even though it is a little predictable as it usually is, but when the OL is making holes and with the studs at RB we have you can really mix in a plethora of different run plays with skill guys like Hill, Blue, Hilliard, Maggee. I'd like to see some more Maggee as well. But the others guys ahead of him have earned their spot also. The thing I don't like is getting conservative with leads. We don't have the defense we had in the previous 2 years that can go out their for big minutes and hold leads only for the offense to go 3 & out. We can't do that this year. I'm assuming many of us have been correct in saying that this is Les Miles' decision to do this with the play calling. I thnk CC would be perfectly happy to mash the gas. Besides running the ball is where guys especially OL's get hurt. I wouldn't want to get conservative and run the ball in the 2nd half for fear of OL's getting hurt. I'm totally happy with the offense with the exception of sitting on leads instead of really demoralizing the other team and zapping their motivation.
