Supa...Glad to know that there isn't much fraud in welfare programs....that means that the truly needy are the only ones receiving aid. If that's really true, (I hope it's not just apologizing Jindal's lack of effort) why in the world would he be opposed to more federal $$ to help the poor in Louisiana. ? He's hurting the poor of this state because of "attatched strings" to prove a talking point. I hope you're right, but I find it hard to swallow. My son-in-law works in BR in the food stamp program....he finds fraud all the time. Especially Lying about income (easy to find for him); Lying about being a single parent; Lying about address of domicile. He finds it a lot and is frustrated by it. Expand Medicaid then, if there's very little fraud and it's too expensive to detect. Expand it immediately.
The legislature was more than exercising muscle (semantics)... it was in open revolt......(He had no leadereship. It's a shame when a conservative legislature rebels against a sitting "Governor" who's one of them... They revolted because he isn't one of us.
The increased federal aid comes with tremendous cost to the state. That is an example of the controls in place working. Detecting fraud or attempts of it are signs of working internal controls. The control can be preventative or detective. I hope he is finding this stuff on the front end and not on the back end.
I talked to a lot of legislators this session. The House was just flat not going to cooperate with anything the governor proposed. They were very butthurt, and were not goign to play ball this session. If Jindal had proposed a package that turned Louisiana into Heaven and they would have killed it in committee.
Exactly my point.....guess why they were butthurt !!! Jindal was so absent and lacking of leadership that he lost control of the legislature that couldn't have been better for him if he had hand picked it.
I would say the exact opposite is true. They felt like he had too much power and got too much of his agenda accomplished and they weren't getting enough credit for their role.
It's obvious that no amount of logic and reason will change Steve's mind. It's too bad. Bottom line is that Bobby Jindal is a man of principal and has been good for this state. We will reap the benefits of what he has done for years to come.
Only the truth will change my mind....not apologetics !! (Principle...he may have...I never thought he was dishonest. He's just self centered.)
Damn dude. My replies were truthful. Supa's were truthful and full of facts and logic. You ain't changed your mind. You must be the liar!
