Another summer and another call-out by our very own Les Miles. This time he's in The Advocate having told a group not to put too much into last year's victory over Alabama because "it seems a lot of teams from Louisiana beat them last year". I love it!
A typical tongue-in-cheek remark from Les Miles. I think it's brilliant - and it's true, too. ldskule:
He's good at saying the right things to keep the media focused where he wants them to be focused.... People think some of the stuff he says is weird - remember how we all scoffed when he said we were "Undefeated in regulation" last fall? It sounded lame at the time, but when it came down to the votes we need to get into the BCS Championship game, that's what all the talking heads were saying, too! Les' comment might have been the different in winning Crystal instead of brass. Les apparently has enough brass already. Not bad. Not bad at all. ldskule:
Last summer Les was criticized for saying that USC had an easier road than SEC teams do. Who ended up in the BCS game? Was Les lyin'? Why, no.
He's getting dogged pretty good right now by the 'Bama fans on other message boards....I guess he hit a nerve.
He's going to get more vocal in the coming weeks. Wait and see. He talked the media into our #2 ranking last preseason. He's going to run his mouth enough to get us in somewhere in that top 10 (within shooting distance) for preseason. I love him.
