all this crap about Saban's players, Miles players, dinardo's players yadda yadda.... LSU recruits ITSELF the school is TOP SHELF. Whichs is WHY we need a top shelf coach. YES LSU made SABAN BUT he DID belly up to the bar and ante up! he was up to the challange, he contributed grasshopper. He actually COACHED the X's and O's with Jimbo's help.

What is Miles and Crowton doing with the TALENT he gets?

Coaches get FAR too much credit for recruits. MANY RECRUITS just WANT to PLAY AT LSU..... can you dig that???? Hell I certainly WOULD have IF I could have!
There's a thing about playing close to home where momma and granny can see you in person.

But you have to give Dinardo credit for finally ending the trend of all the top talent leaving the state and Saban and Mies for keeping the trend. Before Dinardo that wasn't the case and LSU didn't recruit itself.

true, and another few yrs of Miles and Crowton's ZERO passing game and watch the recruits head to TEXAS. You can only blame the QB for so long, QB's come and go but a coach's tenure is usually a few yrs longer.

It can get worse, you CAN lose your skill player recruits, the ones that will make the big $$ in the NFL. BUT the interior players generally stay close to home. Linemen etc. Those were the guys I meant. AND we can even lose those. I guess what I am trying to say is right now LSU has a rep and we recruit with the school name/ facilities etc. BUT YES POOR coaching can Ruin it.

credit dully given, kudos G Dinardo, buy a medal at wally world on me.

there is some merit in both arguments Ill give you that. We have skilled players from other areas. BUT we both know we have a buttload of talent in LA and we both know what a HUGE draw it is to go to the home school. nuff said.

I agree about the talent in LA, and that 90% of the time, it's gonna stay in state, which means LSU. But right now the void is QB. I may be wrong, but there just hasn't been many big time LA QBs since Miles got here, save Perrilloux. Miles got him, just couldn't save him from himself.

What does that have to do with my post about lack of QB talent in state? Did we need another RB???

You didn't say "QB" and that wasn't really directed at your post, per se, just what I thought of when I read what you said and was wondering about D Murray. Sorry for askin.
