Here is the list I made regarding how Dinardo brought the magic back. All of these were on a NFL roster at one point or another.
good lord look at how many of those kids were on the 03 national championship team, and played HUGE roles on that team.
But Saban convinced him to come back to LSU and drop the prison guard gig. That is why I made a note of it below the list.
I remember that, he was in Cottonport i think. Can you imagine big Chad in his prime chasing you with a night stick?
Well, good, you looked it up. In one post you say that I was confusing Hallman with DiNardo, then in the next post you state that Hallman recruited 5 top running backs in one class. Is it your M.O. to try and discredit posts, contridict yourself, then spout off names of recruits from 18 or so years ago like you knew the information off the top of your head? Instead of worrying about the term "running back U" maybe try and comment on the intent of the post.....which was that we've always had enough good talent to win, regardless of who was coaching. Here's some nit-picking for you....Hallman's claim to fame was that he coached Brett Favre.
This is true. Running back may have been our WORST position while Hallman was at LSU, and that's saying a lot. One reason people liked DiNardo is that the first thing he did upon getting hired was convincing Kevin Faulk to come to LSU. With Hallman, he wouldn't have. In fact, every year, good Louisiana running backs were on rosters all over the country: Warrick Dunn and Marshall Faulk being two stand-outs who left the state.
So credit must go to Saban for Miles' BCS trophy because Miles won with Saban's players, but Saban had to build the LSU program from the ground up? Right...
And that wouldn't surprise me. Our recruiting was awful during Archer's and Hallman's tenures. But the poster calling us "Running Back U" under Hallman doesn't seem to remember that.
I heard that just about every school that was interested in him wanted him to be a DB, which is why lowly San Diego State got him, as they were the only school to let him play RB.
