To the contrary, anyone that believes Miles and LSU would have won a MNC in 2007 without the contribution of Miles’ predecessor is a goddamn idiot. Now if Miles had built up the program from scratch the same way his predecessor did, it would be a different story. However, Miles was handed an elite program on a silver platter, and even then he has let the program taper off the past couple of seasons, and so for this season the offense is still sputtering miserably with 4 and 5 star talent. Hence, the decline that coincidentally began in 2008 doesn’t look like it is going to taper off anytime soon.
So did Saban's players not practice with Miles' players? Did they have their own set of gameplans that Saban was "coaching the up" for? Did he call the plays in the huddle from Miami and then from Tuscaloosa? You can believe whatever you want to, but I'll stick with reality. It's a known fact around here that when the players excel it's because they play "in spite of coaching" (the fck does that even mean anyway?). When they don't play to YOUR and OTHERS' expectations, it's because Miles is a horrible coach. It baffles one's mind at how stupid some people can really be.
In 08 what I noticed was a team hampered by 2 defensive coordinators who were career assistants, didn't work, Miles fixed it. Also in 08 our quarterback, you know the one that won the SECCG in 07, got kicked off the team and a young guy who had never seen a snap got thrust into job along with Andrew Hatch. We still had an overall winning record and finished, with the same record your beloved Saban finished with in 2002. 09 the defense plays plays better, offense sputters, like Fish said, we did blow Auburn out, I was there, we dominated. And we still with ZERO offense, had a chance to win the SECW until the hose job in Tuscaloosa. Now it's 2010 we are 4-0, probably going to be 5-0 going to Gainesville. We have won games, over UNC, Mississippi State (who beat UGA), Vandy (who beat Ole Miss), and the best team in the Big East. We are having trouble moving the ball, but this defense is the best defense we have had since 03 and maybe even better. The best special teams we have ever had, probably and best in the nation. Is it ok to wonder what is going on on offense? Sure it is, but you are saying that these wins feel like losses. Check the win loss column, they aren't. People like you are giving LSU fans a black eye. People like you are the reason that on the Scott Van Pelt show yesterday, the guy is basically calling LSU fans a bunch of whiney, spoiled idiots, on a nationally syndicated radio show. Here is a suggestion..... 1. Grow the **** up 2. Follow this link, I have found you another team to cheer for... Alabama Crimson Tide Apparel, University of Alabama Merchandise, Fan, Gear, Store, Clothing, Book, Shop We don't need you, and we damn sure don't want you. :miles: HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
I couldn't agree more. To me, this season does NOT feel like last season. I see a team that is improving (though offensively we are definitely struggling). But our defense and special teams are incredible, among the very best. There are plenty of reasons to be hopeful.
Standard Bama Fan line. So why didn't Dubose win with the fine talent Stalling left? Why didn't Zook win with the fine talent Spurrier left? Because it's BS. And did you fail to notice that the talent level did not drop off, but improved under Les? Pay better attention. 2009 was an improvement over 2008. Sputtering miserably . . . undefeated in the top 10. What a miserable life you must endure.
We only get to enjoy football season for a few glorious months out of the year, and there's a large portion of the "fan base" that simply can't sit back and relax a little. Life's too short, and football is too fun (or should be).
