Jordan Allen is almost the exact same size as Big Sam.
Wait, which is it? Do you want the "big" (and therefore not as fast) DEs, or the ones that have the speed to the edges (which generally come in the "not as big" variety)?

I'm afraid that there is nothing magical about freshman recruits. All their rookie mistakes are ahead of them. They have never seen an SEC offense. There is plenty of talent in the pipeline and Chief knows what to do with them. If one of the frosh steps up and takes a job away from an upperclassman, more power to him, but don't expect the coaches to just throw in rookies because they don't trust their starters. Freak and Ego have earned their spots at the table.

Yes, I love how, automatically, our freshman have to be better than upperclassmen. Besides, Miles has always played freshmen that he felt were ready. This season will be no different.

Actually you need to get your facts straight-- Allen is a much taller at 6'6" than Montgomery at 6'3" and still weighs 10 pounds less. So they are not the exact same size. Not even close.

I want both the quick DE, and the big DE. Like last year when we would rotate in Aghayere and Edwards for Minter and Montgomery.

    I agree.

Starting freshman, in my opinion, would mean less formations and trickery that we would see on D.

My guess is that with the more youth we see, the more basic our D will get.

Not to start ahead of them, to give them a rest. A rotation of the DLine that we have been accustomed to. It is what has separated us and Alabama. Keep it close in the first half and we will wear you out in the second.

Who knows one of them could be another Booger McFarland.

I never said they had to be better! I never questioned Miles playing freshman! We need the freshman more than ever this year. We need the depth.

We do need the depth. However, it seems that many fans are getting more worried than perhaps they should so early.

Yeah, I was thinking Sam was 6'5", but that was Mingo. Even with that screw-up being stated, we now actually have a bigger DE at that spot, and you're saying you long for the bigger DEs. How much bigger do you want them? And how many more times can you contradict yourself in this thread?

Sorry, we never subbed in a DE for a linebacker.

I've learned that a large portion of our fans cannot be happy without something to bitch about. Everybody wants to be the oracle that "told you so" when things don't go as well as we had hoped. They don't accept anything less than perfection in their own lives, so they sure as hell won't accept it from the football team.
