Gordy Rush defensive film breakdown RE: losing containment

An attempt to paraphrase his detailed report on Tiger Zone last night for those who missed it.

We can all watch the games 400 times, but like you know, without the wide angle coaches tape, it's impossible to properly identify what's really happening.

For starters, Gordy said it is NOT our de's who are messing up. Opponents have seen a weakness on film and are exploiting our young guys (duh).

On the plays we lose contain, receivers are "cracking back" on our de's. So basically our de's get blindsided into a double team and the ball carrier gets the edge.

From there is is the responsibility of the olb to fill the vacated space around the DE to force the play back inside. Our olbs are misreading this play most of the time.

Also, sometimes they crack back on the de AND the olb. On those plays it's the safeties and corners who have to fill the vacated space.

We all see how soft Collins was at doing this. Gordy also said Martin and Thompson have filled in on these plays horribly.

So blame the linebackers and safeties and Collins. The de's are performing.

As an aside, he said kwon is the only linebacker that's been playing this right. Even barrow has been messing it up.

It reads like a post that would be made in week 5 or 6. "Teams are breaking down tape and exploiting"? Wth? UAB had one week of tape to break down. TCU had none.

(also technique wise develop the scenario of the gutting of LSU's team each season that they, the tigers, are a good team & why this happens & whose responsible????? ... not to mention LSU's current SEC schedule compared to Alabama's whose responsible for this???? ...and last but certainly not least this fan base who believe somehow LSU will be OK with this years schedule?? Finally that there is no need to leave the corrupt Alabama owned SEC? This is my imagination??)
