“I will be held accountable,” Obama said. “I’ve got four years and … A year form now, I think people are going to see that we’re starting to make some progress, but there’s still going to be some pain out there … If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.”

    Obama 2009

    He said it, not me...

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/peterfe...economic-recovery-since-the-great-depression/

"The recession started in December, 2007. Go to the website of the National Bureau of Economic Research (www.nber.org) to see the complete history of America’s recessions. What that history reveals is that before this last recession, since the Great Depression recessions in America have lasted an average of 10 months, with the longest previously lasting 16 months."

"Today, over 4 years since the recession started, there are still almost 25 million Americans unemployed or underemployed. That includes 5.6 million who are long-term unemployed for 27 weeks, or more than 6 months. Under President Obama, America has suffered the longest period with so many in such long-term unemployment since the Great Depression."

"While Obama crows about 200,000 jobs created last month, the most for a month during his entire Administration, in September, 1983 the Reagan recovery less than a year after it began created 1.1 million jobs in that one month alone. Under Obama, we are still almost 6 million jobs below the peak before the recession started over 4 years ago! In the second year of the Reagan recovery, real economic growth boomed by 6.8%, the highest in 50 years."

Once again I must remind you that recessions are not and have never been measured by unemployment. Recessions and recovery are measued by Gross Domestic Product, GDP. The US GDP which was in freefall under Bush, started posting positive quarters in the summer of 2009, six moints after Obama took office, and are still posting positive numbers.

The United States is not in a recession and hasn't been for three years. Employment is always a lagging indicator. Moreover, Corporate America has sent so many jobs overseas in the last 10 years that even economic growth won't ease the lack of jobs. The factories are simply gone to China.

Gee, thanks for the heads up buddy.

Never said it was measured by unemployment, but you'd be a damn fool to think that high unemployment doesn't affect GDP...

But after reviewing numerous corporate filings with the Securities and Exchange
Commission, contemporary news accounts, company histories and press releases, and the
evidence offered by both the Obama and Romney campaigns, we found no evidence to support the claim that Romney — while he was still running Bain Capital — shipped American jobs overseas.

Gee, you think the Dems might agree to do the same? How much do you think they'll be spending on re-electing the Messiah?

It's a billion dollars which is as significant a chunk as they'll find anywhere by cutting a social program or raising a tax. Don't just roll your eyes as if a billion is an insignificant number, especially when they're spending it to elect a guy so they can keep influencing tax policy to further fuck over the middle class.
