If Ridley continues to hold on to the ball, he'll be a stud. Everything on defense is looking good. Dang, it feels good to be able to pressure the QB with our D-line again. Right now, my only concern is with Jefferson. He just seems to panic a lot and doesn't go through his progressions that well. He has the physical tools, and I hope he continues to improve for when we play Florida and Alabama.
Feel good about this one. Yeah, lots of caveats, but we showed the killer instinct in the 2nd half, finally. That is huge. We have some really talented guys...lots of them. But....
It was a win and i"ll certainly take it. Watching Ridley practically made me giddy. But it's a win that leaves me with concerns. You can't win in the SEC without a balanced offense. We put up big running numbers but it was Vandy. We won't get away with that against strong SEC opponents. We better be finding our passing game. If JJ can't do it, give JL his shot. If he' can't do it, it's going to be a long season.
Success with the run means the O-line is performing. When the O-line is working - good things will happen. :geaux:
50 of 71 plays = 70% LSU threw enough to realize that they could run the football all night long and crush this team. JJ was having a horrible night. I'd rather have seen a balanced offense (i.e. JJ having the ability to throw the football). But no - not frustrating that LSU rushed for 280 yards.
That's a good post, right there. Please post more. A balanced post about a balanced offense...me likey. :thumb:
