Unfortunately the only Bama game I saw was against Jawja and they hung 31 points and shut out the dogs in the first half. If the D does not play their best game this season AND if Lee doesn't stop throwing pick 6s AND if the receivers don't stop dropping the ball, this has the making of the worse home loss in quite a few years. Its only a matter of time before the team gets their act together and I'm hoping it comes together saturday.

Lee haters always forget to mention those little things in their rants.

    You're right. It's not speed.

A lot of it has to do, (especially up-front) is that LSU is too talented.

It sounds dumb to say it like that, but I think LSU substitutes TOO MUCH on defense, especially in the trenches.

They have so many specialty packages and so many personnel packages that all it does is one of two things:

    1. Confuses the hell out of players who do not know what package they're in (hence the frequent running in and out of the game late by players)

    2. doesn't let players get into a rhythm. D-Linemen are in a lot of ways like tailbacks in that it takes a little bit of a bloody nose to get them going. When you're subbing in and out 1-2 linemen every play, you end up with no one being in a rhythm and no one getting their juices going

you're also right about the coverage packages, man. But is that more to do with the coverage schemes? or the inexperienced DB's? or just that we can't get a damn hurry or a sack on a QB.

Because as I recall, the defense was just fine against USC when we sacked the QB 6 times.

So I think the problems are in the front 7, moreso than the back 7, to be honest.

We'll see a heavy dose of it next week. Bama will try to blitz, and generate tons and tons of pressure on the QB. It don't matter if all 4 WRs are moderately open. If the QB is on his heels, or better for the defense, on his back, then just how open are the receivers really?

show me a game this season that LSU has played more than 1/2 of football, and I'll be more confident about LSU's chances.

turning the switch on and off is just as much of a problem here as it's been there.

He consistently gives points to the opposition. I would prefer that someone be in there that gives us a chance to put points on our side of the scoreboard.

Just curious. What is "overrated" about our team? You can't say John Parker Wilson because to be "overrated" you have to be "highly rated" and he's definitely not. I don't think it is any secret we do not put the game on his shoulders to win. We simply design the game to where he gives some balance to the offense.

Show me a game that Bama has lost, and I'll feel better about our chances.

They've won every game against SEC competition. Haven't we always said that deserves #1 consideration? I don't see how they can be overrated.

Along those lines, Texas ran a gauntlet of Oklahoma, Missouri, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. 4 games in a row against undefeated opposition. They lose 1 of them on the final play and that will drop them (probably) to #6. USC, who has one quality win (OSU without Wells) and a loss to an unranked opponent, will likely be ranked ahead of UT. There has got to be a better system.
