Agree, JJ's arm strength was the least of his problems last year and are probably the least of his worries going into this season. He needs to tune up a bunch of small things, but his recognition of what is going on around him in a timely fashion was his main problem last year and is the main concern this season. If he gets that problem fixed the O will be just fine. The rest is just icing on the cake.

Or course we did. But this thread is about the Manning Passing Academy and therefore pertinent to our starting QB who was in attendance.

Which is hard to do when the rush is getting back in the pocket at the same time as the QB. Hopefully a combo of faster decision making (like throwing on timing) and better protection will make us better.

Just like SIU wants to say he called everything last summer, I have to say the above highlighted quote was stated many times by me and others last year. JJ is not a pocket passer. The Peach Bowl JJ that we saw was rolling out and hitting his targets in stride. Last year, they tried to make him a pocket passer, something he is clearly not comfortable being. Hopefully, they will let him be what he is this year...a very good rollout passer.

I've also stated this several times. Go check the stats of other sophomore SEC QBs against JJ's. Good luck, because there aren't many of them. But of the ones that exist/existed, such as Tebow or Stafford, many would be surprised to see where JJ stacks up based on last years stats. In fact, I think many wouldn have no choice but to STFU.

Well it's hard to fix mechanics when you have that pesky DNA in your way.

I wonder if he means that DNA stands for Do Not Attempt down the field passes.
