Re: From a Buckeye fan...Lets have a great month leading up to the game. Oh, and it would be nice to include an Ohio State avatar under the "rivals avatars" for all of your new members!
Re: From a Buckeye fan...Lets have a great month leading up to the game. Agreed. I think this game will be won or lost in the trenches. Good luck to you guys! :geaux: :crystal:
Re: From a Buckeye fan...Lets have a great month leading up to the game. Thanks much. I have been on an OSU fan forum, and made a similar statement. Welcome to the forum.
Aaaannd another Buckeye fan chiming in... GeauxTigers99, cantseeme, and ray6072, that was REAL Southern Hospitality y'all shown Buckeye Planet, and I just wanted to say thanks!:thumb: I have watched LSU battle all season, your guys are top notch, and I wish you luck in Jan when we meet for the :crystal:. **Edit** While NOONE can dispute the speed of the SEC, WE have the best defense in the country. so while haters still speak about the Florida[what BCS bowl are y'all playing this year? Oh yeah that's right- none.] game in which we basically handed it to them [We didn't show up, Ill admit that, but do not ever get it twisted, we are far from jokes], REAL fans know that this game will be one for the ages, no matter the outcome. Go Bucks!
Hey all, another Buckeye. I heard about your board from another site. Just wanted to say Congrats...and good luck. Except on Jan, 7. 2008 Here's to a knock em' around injury free game. As a life long Buckeye fan, I was appalled listening to my youngest inform me that since my Buckeyes are facing the LSU Tigers she just HAS to root for the Tigers (She loves tigers, and thinks 'your mascot is pretty') She's nine, so there is hope for my child.
Welcome Buckeyes!!! Here's to a great National Championship contest down in New Orleans. If you make the trip, bring lots of money for eating and drinking. Close to the Sugar Bowl, they'll do college fight song nights in the piano bar at Pat O'Briens, most fun I've ever had! But if you want to sing at midnight, you have to be there by 8 PM, cause it will be packed beyond standing room if you're not. (We ought to 'sticky' a favorite eating place thread for them). I think the 'SEC is faster' is crap, IMHO. I think if you put the 40 times of the two teams, and took the names off, you could not tell the teams apart. You could only pick out one person, Trindon Holliday, who runs in the 4.27 range. I look for a GREAT close game. With both D's, there won't be much scoring. I'll call it 21-20, LSU, because I'm a homer. But it could be 21-20 OSU. First time two great programs meet, I think. Should be wonderfull !!!
I strongly agree. Last year, Ohio State started out at #1 in the polls and stayed their all year until Florida beat the living crap out of them in the NC. Being #1 all year long went to their heads and they got overconfident and got crushed. For most of this year, Ohio State (like Florida last year) hasn't gotten the respect their team deserves. So they will be out to prove something just like Florida was last year. Remember the 2002 season, when Miami had one of the most talented teams in college football history (they had like seven guys go become Probowlers in the NFL) and they were supposed to crush Ohio State in the NC? Ohio State pulled off the game in OT with a great goal line stand. It was one of the greatest games I've seen in my life. Another example was at the end of the 1991 season when #3 Florida got stuck playing an 8-3 Lou Holtz Notre Dame team in the Sugar. That year, ND had only played three solid teams, and lost to all three of them. I remember everyone was saying "what's the difference between ND and Cheerios? ... Cheerios actually belong in a bowl!," stuff like that. Sure enough, ND felt like they weren't getting any respect, and showed up and beat Spurrier's Florida 39-28. It was another of the greatest games I've seen in my life.
I don't think there's much difference in speed between their top skill position players and ours (with Trindon as an obvious exception). LSU, and the SEC as a whole, has elite speed with more players & at more positions though. Specifically, the linemen in the SEC are much quicker than the Big 10.
