Allow me to pick the minds of you buckeye fans while you're here. 1. should the Big1T1en have a champ game (or at least a pac10 round robin style champion where you play you're whole conference) 2. Describe the level of suckitude that is the B10 network, a scourge on the NCAA landscape that is sure to spread to other conferences
Re: From a Buckeye fan...Lets have a great month leading up to the game. I agree with this! I see this game being a nailbiter and I hope the players and coaches don't come in this game with the notion that OSU is 0-8 against SEC teams in bowl games thinking they're a cupcake team and play a soft game. LSU's lethargic starts are what concern me and hopefully the players get healthy.
LSU fan here living in Ohio. I think the Buckeyes, or at least a lot of the fans I talked to last year, had an over confident mentality when they played Florida. I don't think they will overlook the Tigers this time around. That being said, I agree with previous posters in that LSU will have a team speed advantage and big game experience. However, Tressel is also experienced at coaching big games. He will attack the LSU weaknesses, and make this a tough game for the Tigers. It should be fun, and I'm sure many of my Buckeye friends will want to wager on this one! :geaux:
Re: From a Buckeye fan...Lets have a great month leading up to the game. I say we pull a BuckeyePlanet.com and ban the lot of them.
If the Buckeyes had to play the other 10 teams in the conference it would bring up our SoS for sure, the problem is some teams get to miss OSU and Michigan every few years and I think they like that because it makes it easier for the to maybe get into a BCS game, Because the big 10 if it ends in a tie sends whatever school has not been to the Rose Bwol the longest to the Rose bowl. The only good thing about the Big Ten network is you get to see different sports on it.
I'm glad we don't play a conf. championship game. We finish our season every year with Michigan and that's all that really matters. I think all these other conferences only went to the championship games to draw in more revenue. It's just about the money. It can really screw a school's chances for the big game...just ask Missouri who sat at #1 until they lost their championship and now they're completely out of the BCS (losing out to a team they'd just beaten in Kansas). As for the Big Ten network...it sucks because if you don't have dish network or direct tv you're SOL...well pretty much. There are a few cable networks who've picked it up but not many. People that have it seem to like it's coverage though as they go really in depth. Also cool because they show replays of games. But who wants to watch track and field? And what are they going to show in the summer? I don't like the whole idea of it...
Re: From a Buckeye fan...Lets have a great month leading up to the game. My main forum is Buckeyeplanet, and the only people being banned there were LSU "fans" being idiots and saying OSU is trash and that LSU would beat us worse than Florida did last year. There are a few LSU fans there that are actually contributing to the discussion and they're welcome to stay.
Well, we always have a clear cut champ now in the conference, which wasn't always the case before. Also, our conference is large, as is the Big-12. Seems like a good way to resolve things since we can't play each other year in and year out. Speaking of that, at least the Pac-10 addressed this issue. And one reason why USC didn't get in, in 2003 was because they didn't have a CCG. If they had a Pac-10 north and south, USC might have been able to keep OU out of that game. Just sayin'. Anyway, welcome to the boards. Most LSU fans here are uber-respectful of other programs, so you should enjoy your stay here.
Re: From a Buckeye fan...Lets have a great month leading up to the game. I also mainly post on BuckeyePlanet.com, trust me the LSU "fans" on there... you would be embarassed and would want the same type of OSU "fans" banned on here too. That said, I look forward to posting here leading up to the game! A good friend of mine is a HUGE LSU fan and we're going to New Orleans together. But I have watched every LSU game this season with him, so I feel like I know the LSU team very well. I must say the player that concerns me the most is a healthy Glenn Davis. OSU will have to find a way to stop him or he will be a nightmare all night. That man can single handily destroy the OSU offense if he is not contained! 1. I agree with the above Buckeye poster, I'm glad the BigTen doesn't have a conference championship game, because we already have one, it's called Ohio State vs Michigan. But seriously, very rarely are there two top Big 10 teams that did not face each other during the season. And this season was a good example of how playing that extra game can hurt you (Missouri) or help you (LSU). All in all, it seems at the end of every year I'm glad there's not one more extra game. 2. It stinks, period!
