This past Saturday night at a Waffle House in the Fort Lauderdale area. He was with his GF there at about 1 AM. My friend said he just happened to strike up a conversation with him. My friend is a Florida alum. His take on talking to him was that this kid was just an unassuming humble down to earth person who wasn't looking for someone to fawn over him. He asked my friend if he followed any football. He told him he plays for LSU and is #2. He said to watch for him, he's the one getting kicked around the field, or something like that. My friend said he made it sound like he was just a nobody on the team. Both he and his GF were very polite. Another great story of the type of gounded people playing for LSU. Can't wait to see DByrd light it up next season, on his way to a successful NFL career.
I like how he said what his number was rather than his name. That says alot about him IMHO. I think he's the go-to guy next season. He's already proven he's a clutch playmaker on a few occasions.
My Brother has met and talked to Dorsey I don't know how many times (My family lives in the Gonzales area and knows his family). When he told him last time he saw him, about me and TF he said he knew about and had read it a few times. Bro says he'll get an autograph next time he runs into him. Dorsey's a very laid back and "real" guy. Loves the attention. Big kid, Calls my little bro by his first name. I think most of these kids on this team have that "realness" about them. Thats a great comment on character and coaching. BTW Cali...isn't the Gran Slam at Denny's???:hihi:
I've spoken with him a couple of times, and he is very humble! Can't wait to see him play next year!
yeah i met ryan perrilloux for the second time saturday night at don carter's. i'm pretty sure he was with chris hawkins but can't be sure. either way, the point is that he's actually a really nice guy. i understand his background and why some people think he's a "thug," but the guy certainly doesn't go looking for attention or trouble in the way some people believe. anyway, i saw him, said hi and congratulations and he looked me in the eyes like a man and said a very sincere thank you while giving a strong handshake. this is different than when i met jamarcus who just blew right by everyone. so even our "bad apple" is a nice guy.
Ryan isn't a bad guy... He actually would give someone the shirt right off his back. The thing about the kid is that ever since he was 13, all eyes were on him. He got shot and then all eyes were even more squarely focused on him. Then he overcame that and got national media attention as a great football player, as well as getting hero-worship treatment in the community. My point is that, this whole kid's life, he was told he was super or special, so he, like most kids in his situation would do, tried to take a few shortcuts. As far as Ryan personally, he is one of the nicest you'll ever meet. I've seen him at a restaurant for a kid's b/day party tell his friends to leave without him, so he could stay and finish signing everyone's autograph.
