you mean, as opposed to your jaded perspective? thats gold. No one really cares about the details here. Tell Beebe to hire a consultant to figure out why its an issue. Or just hire Beebe. I think its clear why but you refuse to see it. A condescending douche from Austin trying to feel better about himself with backhanded comments. shocking. You probably don't want to get into a verbal war here with your passive-aggressive nonsense as its no less petty. In fact, its more so. Its clear to anyone paying attention that you are the one bothered here. If you think the LHN isnt the reason behind this then you're even more delusional than I thought. Are you really that uninformed after reading all those 13 page articles? Or are you just in the nile? Your instincts should have told you that even without the details, he was right. This is about Texas' arrogance and inability to conduct a business deal. Whether the SEC has something similar is irrelevant. What baby wants, doesnt mean baby gets. But keep on perpetuating the uTexas stereotype. You're doing a bang-up job. It means he served in each of those areas yet found fewer more clueless than you. Reasonable and tempered is your self-described view of your posts here? More delusion mixed with just enough arrogance to shield you from the reality of the situation. A terrible combination and one never far removed from the city of Austin. The irony is, its why Texas is in this situation in the first place. But you knew that already, didn't you, sparky?
What I know about all this stuff; TAMU said we are so done with you we are willing to throw away one of the best rivalries in sports Pac-12 says after courting you for a year we realize you're a pretty face, but girl, you are high maintenance OU says - you have to change or I'm out of here What is the common element in all your failed relationships? As a side note - you and ND get fewer results out of more assets than anyone in college football. Why do you need to waste more?
uncle milty, the problem is, you view it as the final nail in the coffin when it is actually just a convenient scapegoat. if the lhn is such a problem, why are they going to a conference where collectively, teams make more than three times the money off of third tier revenue than the big 12 (even with the longhorn network in it)? florida is making a killing off of sun sports and doesn't share a bit of it. LSU is doing pretty well for itself too. Alabama is likely up next on the block with their own network like the lhn. and if it is not about the money, what is it? there won't be any high school games and plenty of teams around the country have an outlet for a lot of their third tier content. for instance, kansas has jayhawktv and unc gets paid over $11M a year (in unshared revenue) for the tar heel sports network from learfield. almost EVERY sec team has something comparable. that's the whole point...the only thing that's new here is that it is with espn. and if you can honestly tell me with a straight face that lsu wouldn't happily do the same deal texas did in a heartbeat, then you're not being honest with yourself. it sounds like you are more upset with espn's continued expansion over the college football world which i can understand but don't act sanctimonious and say you wouldn't be thrilled with the same opportunity for all of lsu's athletes. kluke, tamu is willing to throw away one of the oldest rivalries in sports, not the best. 75-37 is not that great a rivalry. they are a delusional group of people (as you will soon find out) that obsess over every slight they perceive. you will soon come to realize that the only balance tamu has is having a chip on both shoulders. the pac-12 would fall all over itself to get texas. texas is not interested in the pac-12 and rightfully so...it makes NO pragmatic sense. oklahoma isn't changing a damn thing about the lhn. the only thing that is changing is that there will be a new conference commissioner and there will be equal revenue sharing on first and second tier content. first of all, we didn't want beebe in the first place, he was oklahoma's guy...not ours. Source: Removal of Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe among OU's demands | NewsOK.com texas has been leading the charge for equal revenue sharing on first and second tier content (which would make it the EXACT same as the sec) for the last year. tamu, nebraska, oklahoma, and missouri all hypocritically were the ones voting for UNEQUAL revenue sharing consistently over the last 15 years. texas was too but they aren't running out the door with their middle fingers in the air crying about inequity in the league. that's the whole point. they hypocrisy. if anything, ou has now screwed itself because it was the single largest beneficiary of the unequal revenue sharing and it has now given that up. tirk, my pithy response were entirely driven by the types of petulant responses shane wanted to offer up in this thread. again, this is all you need to say...you don't care about the actual facts, just silly little barbs. what do i refuse to see? i've personally been calling for beebe's head from the get-go as he is incompetent. as demonstrated above, texas has never supported beebe. pithy non-sequitur that's not really worth responding to. as i said, entirely reactionary to the moron's posts...though i'll admit one thing, i should have known better than to engage someone like that...come to think of it, why am i doing it now? this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. what is the argument you are even trying to make here? texas got what it wanted. tamu got butthurt over it and ran to a conference where almost EVERYONE gets what texas got...of course, no one ever accused you guys of being terribly bright. and of course, you won't actually converse over the actual facts of all this mess...you stick with the ad hominem garbage and throwing out the same ol' aggie buzzwords...arrogance, greed, bla bla bla. but for sure...continue your reacharound. i'm sure shane is enjoying it.
I noticed a comment from an Aggie recently that said over the last 30 years the football series was basically even (maybe 15-14 or something like that). Was that accurate? While I agree that the Aggie fanbase can be a bit off center, I think the Horns overall attitude towards them (such as your comment above) gives some reasoning behind their shoulder chips.
yes, from 84-94 (jackie sherrill's days of cheating and texas' worst decade of all time), tamu won 9 of 10 against texas. so yes, you can create false time frames in which the series appears competitive. we'll see if you think the same thing about the gomers after a few years in the conference. once you guys and bama become the source of all their failings, i'll be interested if you are so intent of defending them. they've already made a good impression over at tigerdroppings. http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/p/28639797/Press-Conference-from-the-SEC-about-Texas-A-and-M.aspx and of course, they are already beginning to look at this in reality...enjoy this thread: TexAgs.com - A&M Football
I just read the aggies forum, they are already discussing what changes need to be made. The first thing they should be doing is thanking the sec member schools for allowing their asz's in. We shouldn't bow down to a Texas team wanting to move in and try and flex it's muscle. They should know their role. They need to think about this , they ain't playin in the kiddie league anymore, tighten your belt aggies you just steped off into the deep end.
see, this is the crap you guys should get ready for...arbitrary time windows for improved self-image, etc... texas is 11-5 in the last 16 years. 15-15 over the last 30. 41-22-1 since ww2, and 75-37-5 overall.
