There has been absolutely tons of honest open discussion about LSU football this season. The issue is that most of the problems with the team are recurring and lead back to Miles. Some of the problems have been long term and severe. I think if Miles at least showed an honest attempt to correct the problems the discussion would be less harsh. Also you can't expect the discussion to be all love and unicorns when you witness yet another late season collapse of a very talented team.

I myself supported Miles until the Arkansas loss. Many of us while tremendously disappointed truly like Miles and appreciate all the good he has done. Unfortunately I think this season was the straw that broke the camel's back for many LSU fans. That's what I think turned the tide on the conversation in such a negative way. When your AD is trying to hire your replacement while the season is still in progress, you have to admit there's a problem.

Yes, he tucked tail and ran when he ran out of excuses for.Miles and it was apparent that he wasn't going to win the debate.

I have no problem with trying to hire a replacement during the season if the process is kept quiet. Since Georgia fired Richt on Sunday and hired Kirby Smart on Tuesday it now is obvious that the AD had gotten a commitment from Smart before he fired Richt. The whole process went as smooth as we wish it had at LSU.

Or if he is as much of a pompous know-it-all windbag in real life as he was on the forum it's easy to imagine that somebody beat him to a bloody pulp. Maybe they stomped on his hands and broke his typing fingers.

That's a different question, but yes you are 100% correct. Georgia did everything right while LSU did everything wrong. Jaques Doucet had a good article this morning comparing the two.

That's not the point. If it hadn't been leaked to the media when it became apparent that they were not going to get Jimbo then life would have proceeded as usual with nothing said about Miles status. If they had been able to get Jimbo's name on a contract they could have fired Miles on Sunday and announced the hiring of Jimbo Monday or Tuesday. The when they didn't get him no harm no foul.

If it was leaked by Alleva to put pressure on Miles and his supporters because he knew he didn't have the support to do it quiet-like, what you think about that? What if Alleva is sick of Miles and decided something has to be done; I can almost applaud his reckless abandon.

His reckless abandon damaged the national perception of the LSU brand and turned the process into a fiasco. Everybody came out smelling like shit except for Miles.

Plus it left Alleva hanging by a thread. Somehow I don't think that was his plan. He simply screwed the pooch, it is what it is.
