Set us straight, we need a good positive voice to balance us out. Every time I try in my head I have trouble convincing myself.

Our Fandom emotions have been trifle with over the past few weeks. I'll admit I became pretty volatile after the game Saturday. I'm almost over it.

yeah thats what happens when everyone had mentally prepared to live life without Miles and begin life with a new coach the last two weeks. Lots of mixed emotions which was very difficult while reliving all the good and bad times.

then finally accepting its over and knowing it had to be done.

Then the bitch moved her shit back in.

Thats why I said once you crossed that line of saying hes out, you have to go through with it. Or you're left with what we have here. An even more vocal and divided fan base with lots of mixed emotions.

The powers that be only want a proven coach, but they don't want to pay too much, so that leaves us with Miles. I don't think we're going to be spending for assistants anymore. We're going back to the bargain basement because the powers don't value sports. Not sure where hope springs with this buffet of options.

I don't hate Miles at all. Nice guy. Actually, I was always one of the folks out here backing him. But even I can see what is happening. Either way, doesn't matter, Miles is still here. Leaving the forum because a lot of people aren't convinced he's any good for us anymore (myself included) is kinda ridiculous considering that element has always been part of the group here. It makes for some funny ass posts though LOL.
People really need to not be so damn sensitive. :)

This is where I am. Like @LSUDieHard , I wasn't sold on Miles in the beginning, then he won the NC, and I decided I needed to be all in. Despite the inept offense, we won games, and then 2011 happened where we beat ranked opponent after ranked opponent, and I backed him like never before. But, still the inept offense kept happening, and the dwindling was evident. The mass exodus of players surely did not help. Finally, I've been at the point that Miles is too stubborn to change, so we (LSU) need to change, and that seems like it is happening, when boom, a 180 occurs, and he is suddenly still our coach. Takes some time to heal from all of those shifting emotions. @west_tex_tiger , hang in there bro, the pendulum will swing back in time. It's not that any of us hate Miles, we just want an offense w/some polish, that has flow whether passing or running. It's really not too much to ask for, is it? Also, why in the hell are you living in West Texas? I don't even like driving through it. Can't imagine living there, and still maintaining a positive outlook on life, much less this coaching staff.

This sums up the Miles club perfectly. The "success" the willingness to accept that we were in the red zone 3 times on Saturday and came out of it with 6 points. That my friend is unacceptable. Wins be damned, that is pitiful

Yep these drives were a microcosm of why everyone is so damn frustrated with miles. Add in the 2011 cluster and it makes people, including myself done with him. The sad thing is each year he is able to fool us in to thinking that he has fixed things and we have a shot. Best example is this year prior to the gump game. Then we have the rug yanked out from under us. All miles has to do is adapt!!!!! Hire a damn OC and stay the hell out of the way, if he does that I would be glad to see him here for years. But he doesn't. What is the definition of insanity again, "doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result" (or see the last several gump games).

I like Miles as a man and support him as our Head Coach. I'm hopeful that this near divorce will force him to change, but since the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, I doubt he will.

I've been willing to be patient with Miles because 10-3 is so much better than 5-7.

Because here's what happens when we fire him --

#1 It's going to be expensive
#2 We're going to lose a higher number than usual of kids from the current roster (Seniors, Juniors leaving early + more transfers)
#3 The following recruiting class will be smaller in numbers than what we need (New staff may only get 15-18 players signed).
#4 Numbers 2 and 3 will combine to put us significantly under the 85 limit for the next season.
#5 There will likely be a 2-3 year rebuild period because the initial roster will be thin and the subsequent rosters will be thin on upper classmen. And this means the new coach's first 2 or 3 seasons probably won't produce 10 win seasons, let alone a realistic shot a SEC Championship.

Having said that, the new coach and his staff would have to come in and prevent a mass exodus from occurring AND sign a strong recruiting class in Feb. This is very risky. If he's not able to do these 2 things, you're looking at 2-3 down years. Maybe more.

So, it may actually be safer to keep Miles and push him and hope he improves our Tigers than it would be to cut him loose.
