33-17 win in the 1st game in a game most of y'all thought LSU would lose or be closer, and all you can do is bitch. WOW!!! Defense was great, O-line held it's own against a pretty damn good d-line. Didn't need to throw for 200. WR dropped less than 4 passes. Kicker nailed everything. First game jitters not withstanding I would say OUTFUCKINGSTANDING!!!!!!!!!
I had not seen Joe Burrow until tonight. All night he reminded me of somebody I had seen before. A little research by a friend uncovered the mystery - Jim Breuer comic actor was on SNL.
And ST coach. Brossette looks solid, better than I thought, but i still think CEH is the difference maker. Don’t see Brossette doing this vs AU/Bama. Did CEH piss somebody off or is Eaux favoring the senior? OL and WR need to help Burrow out. Grimes, Sullivan, and E all need to step it up a notch, the offense sputtered too much and didn’t put the U away. Hope E is developing Brennan and recruiting the next guy, we finally have a chance to correct the QB room void dating back to Perrilloux. Aranda’s D has a lot of bending, hope we shook out a lot of the jitters. I expected more out of HC #2 (DC), but that’s probably not fair considering Miami only scored... 3! Please be ok Chaisson, but I didn’t hear his name called as much as I thought I would. Devin White was a beast. DBU got beat quite a few times; despite playing tight coverage for the most part, looked rusty/green. A lot of youth on the field for LSU, and Miami isn’t as bad as we made them look... well, they should do ok in the ACC. The SEC is just on a different level. Rozier is a great competitor and their WRs made some nice catches. DL was in Burrow’s face most of the night. AU game should be similar to the AU/LSU games of lore. Eaux has a lot to correct but bottom line is he’s leading a damn good group of players. He’s got us back to looking like pre-2012; it’s a little premature to say that, but a damn strong start to the season.
I have earned the right to be the head chef for the ones who are needing a plate of Crow. Not going to say I told you so but I told you so.
Good...we came, we saw, we conquered. Bad...we didn't win by a bigger margin. Ugly...Two starters injured.
The good Good gameplan. E managed Jeaux very well. Gave him plays in doses that he was comfortable with. Keep in mind this was the kids FIRST START in college football and consider this was a marquee nationally televised game. Glad E established our running game an glad he ran the ball and didn't get reckless in the 4th quarter as some here and elsewhere wanted him to. We found a go to back. DEFENSE! NO TURNOVERS! The bad Dropped passes. Safeties out of position on a few plays cost us. Need more discipline when rushing the QB need to breakdown a bit instead of trying to kill the QB. OL needs some work probably the the biggest need the other problems are more easily fixed. The ugly The game announces. Near the end of the game those two clowns were deciding if Oeaux would "be off the hotseat for 1 week or 2 weeks" and said "that's life at LSU". This kind of talk was out of place and destructive and has a very negative affect on recruiting. Also in a way I can't blame the media since we have "fans" some here BTW that cause the sports media to think Oeaux is always on the hotseat and maybe should be fired.
