Unlike you I will reserve my "objective opinion" after a fair reasonable amount of time is given to this coach. I simply do not agree with your premise.
Considering all the 7-5 predictions anything better than that is great--THIS YEAR. I expect at least 10 wins in 2019 when the schedule lightens, this years freshmen and sophomores have more experience and Joe Burrow has a season under his belt. After the way we beat Miami we should win at least 9 if we beat the teams we are supposed to be beat. With a bowl game 10 wins.
I am confused. From your post it assumes any coach at LSU with the talent you say we have every year the floor is 10 wins. You are using Miles as a benchmark, am I reading your post wrong?
My post said if Les Miles were our Coach this year (all things the same) anything less than 10 wins would be considered a failure. I believe that with our talent 10 wins is not an unreasonable expectation and should be the floor for LSU. But this season considering the turnover/changes and tough schedule 8-4 is more to be expected. To be clear, this isn’t a shot at Coach O.
We will have a better team and a better schedule next year you are right. Also from what I see we will have a good to great recruiting year which adds to it. As far as winning 9 I will not be disapointed if we don't but will expect at least 9 next year. What I see is A&M and Fla getting better quickly so this conference may be even tougher next year and many years to come. If I am right expecting 10 to 11 wins a year may be a pipe dream for most all teams.
Personally I think 9-3 is the floor for a consistently good team,.. 9-3, then winning a nice bowl game is a very good year.
Fair enough. But I feel like 9-3 got you know who ran out of town. I certainly didn’t think I was one of those delusional LSU fans out of touch. Looks like I was wrong and have some more soul searching to do. Trust me, I know Miles was fired for much more than not winning 10 games a year. Closing argument. Geaux Tigers.
it was a special circumstance,.. Miles was fired because in the eyes of LSU fans,.. Les didn't measure up to Nick Saban.
