Quite possibly so. At the time my thought was that they were in clock-burning mode, and squibbing was just a part of that.
Thought our CB's covered really well but Rozier threw the ball very accurately and their recievers are are fabulous. Might be the beat we will see all year except maybe Ole Miss. Ours need to get better.
Their WR’s are legit. But Fulton got shook a few times (I think one time he slipped) had a few PI calls and just looked a little rusty (but to be expected) Stevens and Vincent were also out position a few time but nothing too detrimental considering the talent they were covering against a team down by 30 airing it out trying to get back in it. We also dropped a few picks. Call me greedy but I wanted to keep them out of the end zone. I’m not beating up our guys, Im crazy proud of them. But Greedy, Battle and Harris were all nicked up too. Speaking of which, heard a rumor that the fear is Chaisson tore his ACL. Any word on him? That would be a huge blow.
The squib is the only way to pin them inside the 25. If it's in the air, they can fair catch it and it's spotted at the 25.
If you think the offense you saw last night is going to stand up against elite SEC defenses; especially on the road, then you're the foolish one, not me. You can still run your offense and be smart about it without going ultra conservative.
They are in the top half of the best we will see this year. Bama, Barn, UGA and State will all be just as good and better in some cases. That Willis maniac is a beast. Brossette went for 125 with 2 TD’s on nearly 6 ypc. His average was brought down in the 2nd half when Miami was stacking the box because they knew we were running the clock out.
