I'm not a football coach Bengal B. I can't answer that. But I still think Herman and Jimbo are better coaches than Coach O and would have had us more prepared.

Did you see how Texas played USC last night? With a FRESHMAN QB? And they have Less talent than what we have in Baton Rouge. 1st year HC, 1st year OC, 1st year DC. Before you toss out Maryland, I know. But have you seen the improvements Herman and Texas have made from week 1 to week 3? Looking good for them. They will upset one of the Oklahoma schools this year, mark it down, you heard it here 1st.

It still comes down to blocking and tackling. Those inferior teams sometime throw a scare into the big bad blue blood but they almost always end up on the wrong end of the scoreboard.

Yes but we aren't Tulane. We have more than enough talent to adjust to Mississippi state. If you can't compete with them despite attrition the coaching staff needs to find a lesser school taking applications.

That'swhat I thought going into the game. I predicted 34-17. Thought it would be close till the 4th quarter before Moo was worn down. Most of all I am disappointed by the defense Aranda put on the field. Yes, I know they were on the for for 36 minutes compared to the 24 for the Moo D but still the lack of focus is disturbing.. After 3 games I'm still waiting for Air Canada to be cleared for takeoff. I hope Oeaux is burning up the phone lines asking Pete and Jimmy how to fix it.

I predicted a loss but changed it to 31-30 to not put a negative vibe on the prediction thread. I had moo u rushing for 200 plus. As well as us. I won't care about the juju next time.

Yep. Mullen out coached us up and down that field. They saw the weakness in our Run defense and exposed it all night long. I feel bad, I dove on Mississippi State +7 the day the line dropped. I didn't start talking about a win until I was annoyed by the State fans trash talk Friday. But felt the struggle looming the entire week.

Biggest question is how much and how quickly will we improve? Getting Key and Lawrence back healthy will be huge. Will we see Tyler Shelvin and/or Frank Herron this year? I hope so. Also, I have to believe we will see serious improvement on defense. I still think our youth of guys like Chaisson, Delpit, Vincent, Greedy, etc. all have extremely bright futures ahead and our defense will be stank by years end. In a way, they needed this experience.

You can spin that both ways. Either it's a wake up call and attitudes will change or it's an indication that the talented but youthful players still need more seasoning under fire. At this point I don't know which but we will find out October 7th in the Swamp.

Yep as did I. I dont know wtf to think about Herron. Or shelvin for that matter. I wasn't certain we'd see either anytime soon but necessity is the mother of invention as well as getting troubled sec players back sooner than later.

Key looks fat and slow but still played his ass off and impacted the game. I was surprised.

The other 4 who were stars the prior week looked like gd freshmen.

Yes they needed a reality check as did the coaching staff apparently. But thats only if you adjust and evolve from it. If you continue to suck its just a lifelong embarrassment you look back on like the Hallman years hoping never to repeat.

Lsu opens a 23' pt favorite over Syracuse.

That's to be expected but I had tabbed Greedy Williams to be the next Honey Badger, or at least a reasonable facsimile. The dropoff from the first 2 games is disappointing. I kept hoping he would make a game changing scoop and score or create a turnover when it was most needed.

I still think back to the barely 30 pass attempts over the first two games combined and how our inexperienced receiving corps just isn't ready for SEC competition. When will we ever learn to ramp up quickly to get players up to speed?
