I still put more on this crapping the bed on the young kids who didn't know how to respond to being punched in the nose by a much more hungry team. For that matter what the hell happened to the vets on the team? Also I think a butt load of blame goes to Leslie for recruiting "lighter more mobile" o-lines while everyone else in the conference is recruiting walking mountains. This will be fixed but it will take time. This loss might go a long way to putting forging this team into a tougher group. We also need to instill more discipline. This is something else les had slipping while he was here, lack of discipline. You can not have that many damn penalties and expect to win against anyone in this league.
Oeaux said we have to go the juco route for oline and dline. That usually doesn't pan out and is a red flag. Also wasn't he our recruiting coordinator prior to this promotion. And dline coach. What the hell. He failed there too apparently.
I agree, and I even mentioned that in my post saying "before you mention Maryland". But there is simply no denying the coaching job he has done when you look at the product he put on the field Saturday against USC week 3 vs. what he put on the field week 1 against Maryland.
He also said something like this team never had championship aspirations or goals or something to that effect. I didn't like the gist of it.
