What do you mean they don't have to read a defense? They aren't changing the plays but knowing which guys on D are going where and who is dropping back and who is coming is paramount. Has anyone ever thought that maybe the reason we run the ball 7 out of 10 times is because neither of these guys can throw the ball with any accuracy. Neither of these guys can read coverage or go through progressions. So, I'm with Twisted Tiger, out of 10 years all we have managed to get was 1 year of a good passing offense. It's because we aren't recruiting passers. We are recruiting a bunch of Brad Smiths, or Randle El's. I'm sick of dual threat qb's in this offense. If we are going to continue to put guys at qb who are just strong arms and strong legs but not strong cerebral assassins then we need to adopt Malzahn's offense.
I wish I knew how to contact Yogi Berra. He would love this place. It's deja vu all over again, again, again, again, again, again, & again. Shit's getting old.
@TigerTap Then I guess to make your point, it is Les Miles fault for failing in QB recruitment. 2014 - 98th passing O 2013 - 45th - 3rd round QB 2012 - 94th 2011 - 106th - If only we had a passing attack. NC #4 2010 - 107th 2009 - 97th 2008 - 71st And before you open your air sucker about the running game. We average about 25th nationally in rushing. Just think if we didn't completely suck ass in passing with a "usually" strong D and ST's.... But whatever, call me a Miles hater. Les Miles is 1 QB away from 4 titles.
And very well could have been right under his nose. Instead he fell in love with a boy and the rest was history.
Seriously, you have never noticed that Les Miles loves a 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense? Les is all giddy with Jennings at QB. Perfect for his system. It forces an otherwise aggressive Cam Cameron to be conservative and run the ball 3 out of 4 times. A ratio Les dreams about at night. This is why Jennings was de facto starter way before spring ball started. Like as soon as we stepped off the field vs Iowa. 21-14. Ugly grind it out win. What a thrill that must have been for Les.
When is Jennings going to give any credibility to anything Whitfield had to say? So far I see nothing. LSUDAD also said that LSU would see top QB talent flocking here in droves. So far I only see you and your jock sniffing buddies carrying on about what a superstar Jennings is.
No I know he does, but you know what makes 3 yards and a cloud of dust more effective? A guy who can stretch the defense with his arm. The running game only gets better when you have the ability to throw it.
I wonder if he posts anywhere else. Dude knew his stuff. I can accept criticism and opposing points of view. What I can't accept is reading the same shit 1,000 times. Once is enough.
