So scouts rated Mett as a big "ARM" coming out of high school. Were they wrong?

Its not like we make this shit up.

He does have a big arm and professionals recognize this. He is very much raw, but has the frame to be as big or bigger than Mett.

    So please counter.

Brandon Harris has already seen more playing time as a true freshman than Zach Mettenberger saw as a sophomore. What more do you want? Zach Mettenberger was a throwing quarterback, Harris is a runner that has a strong arm.

Pretty sure during the broadcast I heard this "Harris has one of if not the best arm in all of college football"

    Something very close to that.

I want proper management of the only 2 scholarship QB's we have. QB recruitment has been a mess outside of Mett.

A: they need to fit a scheme better to Jennings.
B: they need to find ways to give Harris meaningful snaps. Frankly, making him start on the road vs AU was a terrible idea I did not fully support. non the less, it was run run run run, oh shit get us a 1st harris.

I am not saying Harris should start is is better at this point, I am saying that the way we treat both of these kids is bad.

27-3 to start the 3rd and Jennings is allowed 2 passes in the 3rd.... Just terrible. That kid needs all the confidence building throws he can get.

@TigerTap You right, the guy only worked with just a few Heisman winners. Clearly pedestrian level. Why would elite QB's even work with the dude.

Harris has a great arm. Jennings has a good arm. They both suck at reading defenses, going through their progressions and getting the ball out in a timely manner. Both struggle with accuracy and decision making. Both have a long way to go just to be average. However at this point since neither has established themselves as a legitimate college QB they should both see playing time. Other than leaving Jennings in WAAAAAAAAYYYY too long against New Mexico State I don't have much of a complaint about how Miles has used them. Leaving Jennings in as long as he did against NMS was mind blowing and a major FUBAR! Neither should be led to believe they are worth a phuck at this point. As good as recruiting is at LSU it's absolutely amazing that in 9 out of 10 years somewhere around 100 college football teams are able to field a better QB than LSU.

This reading defense stuff is way overblown. In case any of you haven't noticed neither of the qbs are required to do so. They get a play, they go to the line, they look at the sideline and then they run the play. That is pedestrian bs.

Of course the jock sniffers don't get this.

Step 1, read the 247 article. Not the name of the dude who wrote it.
