And that's the strange thing I would like to know, I'm content too, LSU is in its golden years, I don't want Les fired, I hope he retires a Tiger, but why when people are critical of a passing game that has been completely suspect and missing for more years than they have been noticed, are you labeled a hater or a negatiger?

I never called you hater or a negatiger. I just disagreed with you. That's going to happen here, you know.

If I call you a minion, well, you picked your photo.

    True enough...

On a positive note, I'm more confident now that the passing game can be successful than I have been in the past.

yeah, right. labels can be boxy. republican or democrat? well, i like things about both. i'm humanistic (if that's a word), and republicans don't seem to be very humanistic over the past 20 years, yet I do respect the fiscally conservative.

i tell many of my parents of adhd kids, that many of those same kids with that label will later in life be described as "spontaneous", or "romantic". unfortunately, at their young age in a structured learning environments, some can't stay on task long enough to gain the skills they need to gain, and it's a learning barrier. thus, they are labeled.

so there you go, at moments we are sunshine pumpers, and other moments negatigers. no one says, you can't be both, LOL.

I'm optimistic, but not sure I'm confident in Harris, yet. The reasons that we didn't have a great, balanced passing game last week were not because of the coaches play calling. It was the O-line underperforming in pass protection, Harris not finding open receivers or being very accurate, and receivers running poor routes and dropping way too many passes.

These things are fixable and it is the coaches job to fix them. I do not expect an overnight, miracle transformation, but I do expect steady improvement. This is a young team making mistakes and learning this here game. They have a ton of upside, but it will take time to get there. It has always worked this way. Coaches must be patient. Fans should be.

I have no issues with the game plan or play calling this year. The team just hasn't executed, and after you see the line whiff on a block and Harris get sacked, or receivers drop passes, I completely understand why Les would set the offense back to Fournette default mode. 3 things Harris needs to work on.

    1. As MM pointed out, his footwork has to get better. He has happy feet and isn't setting them, if he did that his throws would be more accurate.
    2. Pocket awareness, he has taken too many sacks this year. Get out of the pocket and throw the ball OOB.
    3. Confidence, I think he is trying too hard to establish himself as a downfield passing threat. If he just has faith in himself and takes what the defense gives instead of trying to connect deep on every throw, I think you'll see his footwork get better, you'll see him put some touch on balls instead of throwing Dwight Gooden coked up fastballs, and this offense will click.

If I'm Cam or Les I'm telling Harris, it's your show son. Don't worry about getting benched if you play poorly, you're our guy, and maybe they have done that, I don't know. I was listening to a QB the other day talk about how you play differently when you think there is a chance you'll lose your job.

Pass protection ass you pointed out has to get better too.

i'd like to add that if we ran that same style of o as TCU, that exposes you D because they're on the field more... our d wasn't nearly good enough early last season to have any more exposure... We would've been lucky to see 8-5... there's also no guarantee that either of our qbs would've been more successful in that type of O...

I'm very disappointed in our passing game at this point, however not at the play calls. I truely believe that we would be calling even more passing plays if we were more productive and blocked much better.

I am therefore disappointed in Cam's effectiveness in getting the passing game fluid and more productive, especially when we do throw on first or second down. I know they are likely working on this more than most believe however we are not seeing positive results. I really hope we do soon. While others want to fault Miles I have to question Cam's ability to develope a passing game at the CFB level.

As for running a TCU style offense, I pray (not really) that we never have an offense like those Big 12 or Auburn teams have. 52-48 games don't interest me in the least.
