Great coverage on SP ... Culp getting kicks inside the 5 every time ... albeit one only to the six ... And one 3 yds deep for a touchback (25 yd line automatic) Kicks by Culp went to the: Goal line --> Returned to 11 6 yd line --> Returned to 18 1 yd line --> Returned to 26 2 yd line --> Returned to 28 3 yds deep in endzone = 25 Touchback Culps average kick went to the 2 yard line Average return went to the 21 yard line! SouthPark Numbnuts makes a good point! Why not use Gonsoulin and kick thru end zone like he did in HS and start every drive at the 25 yard line ... LSU's Kicking Team Analyst has the best plan ... He's playing for improvement from 21 yard line average toward more of those around the 15 or less that had the crowd going nuts ... But if someone starts TEARING LSU AZZ UP ON RETURNS, look for LSU to kick it thru the endzone and give em a start on the 25 ... Good observation SouthPark ... Musta been during one of your more lucid moments between bowls When SP TEAMS hammered BYU at the 10 on that one series ... It was awesome ... I was so aroused I had to pinch my nipples hard long & continuously to be sure it wasn't a dream! Only one bustout run to near the 30 ... And that idiot Rucker (51, Sr LB) on the opening kickoff getting flagged for punching (Didn't see him again, hope they let his AZZ ride the pine) ... LSU's kicking Analyst/Specialist will pay big dividends... Looking for an average return to the 15 and other teams desperate to get touchbacks
True, but it just appears to take forever for the ball to get there. Montana didn't have a tremendous arm but he was very smart, accurate, and great touch. Don't get me wrong, I have ZERO criticisms as a whole from Etling's performance last night. Just saying, that I hope he has enough arm for when we play stiffer competition.
You make a good point ... We will see what Moo U does on returns! Depending on the return, sometimes open lanes were not there and we smothered em inside the 20 twice ... Saw some speed on BYU's returners ... But we all know the SEC speedsters can really fly ... But a guy this accurate simply kicks away from their burners or kicks it out the endzone Field is 54 yards wide ... And what the hell is a Kikicacca ... Is it some kindova freak that runs around the Superdome during a Decadent Fest ...
The floaty ball kind of concerned me as well but they all seemed to be on target. It's going to be interesting to see what he does against better corners. I'd like to know how efficient he looks in practice because he does practice against elite corners. What I liked was his decision making, throwing it away sometimes is the smartest thing to do and he seemed to do that when there was nothing there.
Christian Kirk at A&M would have taken two kick offs to the house yesterday, that's a worry if we dont fix it. We used to place kicks to one side of the field to pen them in we either dont have a kicker who can do that now or changed our strategy. Lets see next game.
