Talked about him in the other thread, I was really surprised with his play last night. Moving him to safety was probably the best thing that ever happened to him and the defense.
Etling played an exceptional game. He certainly has made leaps and bounds. My only question of him is, is his arm strength enough to deal with the tighter coverage we will see against Bama and other SEC D's? The offensive struggles in the red zone were horrible. There is no excuse for that. The team should have put up 40 or 50. That said, we looked much better. Last year this game would have probably come down to the final minutes. So we are making great strides.
Etling is not going to throw any frozen ropes but his arm strength as well as his accuracy have improved and should be adequate. Joe Montana, Kenny Stabler, Trent Dilfer didn't have cannons but they all have Superbowl rings
