We played 4 true freshman starters (3 defense and 1 offense) and several redshirt freshmen. 13 did not attend due to suspension or injury including at least 2 starters on D. How many saw their first action last night???? That by itself if very good especially in light of the results.
I couldn't believe the time of possession. It's so weird how controlling the clock keeps one defense fresh and the other tired. It's like sorcery.
I like the tempo changes. Going from a huddle to a no huddle and back and forth as well as all the shifting and movement kept the defense off balance. Will that work in the SEC? We'll see. I was surprised that Guice was never able to break a long run. Kudos to an outmanned BYU defense for hanging in there.
